"fast, light and works in platypus water bottle" 02/25/12

An amazingly efficient water purification system that works in a regular water bottle. It's good that the AA batteries are easy to find. The steripen weighs 98 g without batteries.

"Great for warm weather" 11/30/11

I have used the SteriPen on several trips and have yet to reach for the Imodium. The only down fall is battery life becomes severely shortened in cold weather rendering this product as an inconvenient battery holder. Keep the batteries in pants pocket and they will easily last for a 3 nighter during frost conditions. Bring backup water treatment just in case.

"AMAZING!" 10/31/11

I took this on a trip to Ghana where I was concerned with water quality. It was great for being portable and easy to use. I also liked that it tasted a whole lot better than the tablets.

"great for backpacking, day hikes, emergencies and any other place you want fresh clean water" 06/26/11

I backpack a lot and weight and space is a issue. I choose this product because it is lightweight and easy to use. It does not take up much space so I have room for other gear. I recommend using lithium batteries to really save weight and ensure that you always have enough juice to disinfect water. this product works excellent with nalgene wide mouth bottles, but also works great with regular plastic water bottles.
