Alright if you hate your bike and want to see it destroyedI bought this hoping to transport my mountain bikes around without paying a fortune for a rack. I have two 29ers, one hard tail, one full suspension. I took this rack out on a road trip and found out the hard way that the back panel of the bracket (which fits into the shelf and secures the top piece) is pretty crappy, it's way too shallow. I had my full suspension on the rack, locked with a padlock, and the back panel popped out while driving. The metal panel was just dangling there, attached by the padlock. I almost lost a $4k bike (I know stupid me for not investing in a better rack). I have a feeling this rack might work fine for road/commuter bikes with smaller top tubes, but my top tube isn't oversized and this happened. Honestly, save up your money and get a better rack, this one is scary. Even if you're willing to take the risk, it's super wobbly and you can't fit a 5/8" nor a 1/2" hitch lock on it because of the pin size, so the rack is pretty much up for grabs.
