Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality/Fit concern I really like the looks and the boots are comfortable and warm for the most part, but the inside of the left boot is way too tight and it constantly rubs the underside of my ankle. I pulled out the wool insert out to figure out the problem. It seems that while waterproofing (from what it looks like, essentially smearing rubber along the seam where the rubber bottom meets the leather upper) they pulled the leather in too tight or created a permanent rubberized crease. It's that crease that rubs on my ankle. ,,Moosejaw was great and said to send them back, but I just don't want to wait 4-6 weeks for a replacement w/ no guarantee of the next pair being any better.,,

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They look good. Unfortunately they are not as warm as indicated. -40 degrees is a big stretch. I live in MN and used these for the past month. I have gone ice fishing twice and to a Vikings game when the temperature was 7 degrees. ,,I like the way they look, but would not recommend them if you are not going to be active while wearing them in single digits and below. ,,When I wear them walking my lab pup they are excellent. They are comfortable and keep me plenty warm. ,,I have been wearing the heaviest smartwool brand socks and even that didn't keep my feet warm standing on the cold concrete at TCF stadium. I had to leave the ice early both times I wore them. ,,If they are going to be rated for -40 degrees, they will need a much thicker layer of insulation on the sole of the boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best winter boots I've ever had. I bought these boots from Moosejaw mostly just to have a nice pair of winter boots that would last me for more than just a season or two. From the price, I knew that they would be some awsome boots, but these have far surpassed my expectations of awsomenss. They are the warmest things I've ever put my feet into. The wool liner goes in and out without any trouble, to air them out or whatever else you'd like to do. Super waterproof. Most importantly though, they are sexy. I don't think I'll ever buy anything but these boots for winter. Spend the money. Impress your friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable, sexy These boots arrived the day before the first big snow of the season here in Iowa, giving me the chance to field test them right away. So far, they have performed very well as expected. Paired with thick wool socks, these boots kept my feet warm and dry as I spent the day walking through several inches of snow in temperatures at around 15 degrees F. ,,,,While I can't comment on long term durability, my initial impression is that they "feel" tough. The leather is good quality and the stitching is good. They are flexible enough to drive in and work a clutch without much trouble.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good boot, little heavy, I hope that columbia taking over sorel doesn't mean low quality They fit well, but a little wider than expected. Not a bad thing, plenty of room for some thick wool socks. Feel nice on my feet look forward to getting to take them out in the cold, but for the first impression in my living room and garage. sure, as long as they hold up, I have heard bad stuff with columbia buying them out but we will see. If the sidewall cracks then I am sending them back and never going this route again. Sorel used to be the yardstick to which winter boots were measured I can only hope that continues to be the case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, fashionably ugly and run a size big Nice update to the Caribou. So far holding up well but the removable felt liner seems like it will not last more than 3 seasons. We will update if any issues. I have a very high arch and wide foot, so the extra room made these one of only a handful of boots that I can wear in this category. Now I feel ready to operate a chairlift somewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots: warm, true to size... but also HUGE! I got these boots for my husband last Fall, perfect timing before our insane winter (20013-2014). He has used them for snoeshoeing, winter hiking, and walking to work. ,,,,Pros: 1. They are VERY warm!!! He is athletic, but has terrible circulation, his fingers and toes are always white when it's cold and it takes 10 minutes of sitting in warm water before the color comes back. So high quality gloves, socks and shoes are a priority. He said these were almost too warm (despite snowshoeing in Vermont in -7 degrees, -30 with wind chill). ,,2. They also have great traction and were flexible enough to be comfortable in use. ,,3. 1 yr of use and they still look new! I'm sure they'll last well.,,4. Ran true to size, unlike many of Sorels boots. ,,,,Cons: These boots are HUGE. True to size, but the boots themselves are enormous! He's 6'2" so it was ok, but someone short might have looked pretty funny and not been too comfortable either. Better to get a different model if you're short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots my 2nd pair the 1st pair lasted a hard 5 winters. These boots are the best waterproof, comgortable, and warm, also they grip the ice well, no sliping. This is my second pair the first pair lasted a harsh 5 winters, and the price for probably the best made boot I've felt or worn ever you can't beat it!
