I bought this Smartwool Base Layer after my roommate brought one home. The fit is flattering and slimming. The material is really soft. The shirt also is great at wicking moisture. It's my preferred shirt for morning runs or hiking because it does a great job at keeping me dry. The other feature I love is that the shirt is odor resistant. I've worn the shirt 2-3x/wk for about three weeks now and it still smells fresh. It's the go-to base layer for the minimalist wardrobe.
. . . know that what you see is NOT what you get. Up-close, the photo clearly shows a silver stitching on all seams (across shoulder/neck, around armholes, at sleeve hems, and at torso hem). The item, however, has black stitching, which gives it a sharper, sportier look than shown. I called Smartwool and they said the stitching was supposed to be tonal but there was a mix-up, and black was used on all of them. The photos were sent out earlier so they don't match the items. I'm bummed, as I liked the softer color (especially with the zipper being white). The stripes are really nice, and the fit is great on this new style. I would absolutely love it if it were what it should have been.
