I have a few pair of these Smartwool ankle high socks. I have the light and ultra light socks. Either way you can not go wrong. At nearly 70% wool they are comfortable and look good. Fit seems true to size.
I got these in the mail the other day (my third pair so far of smartwool) and I had my family try them on too. My brother-in-law who is an avid outdoor man and hunter said he loved them and tried to steal them. They are the best socks I have worn.
This is my go to running sock. The level of comfort is amazing. They stay warm when wet and cold, wick sweat and disapate heat when hot and stay in place because of the way that the PhD line is fitted. The extra bit of material at the rear is great to prevent blisters from your running shoes. I have almost exclusively gone to merino wool socks and Smartwool is the way to go, this is my favorite sock!

These are my default socks. If you are reading this then the price of the socks probably wont concern you. Yes they are more than the 6 pack of socks your mom bought you as a teen, but they are worth it. My feet love these socks. No sticky, smelly feet. Feet breathe, no blisters, and they are super comfortable. You pretty much stand on your feet all day - unless you are sitting down - so treat them right!
Literally the only brand I'll put on my feet when they feel they've been naked for too long. I subscribe to all forms of this brand, but these are by far the elite of the group. They hold up well in high-activity sporting as well as lounging on the sofa on a fantastic March day in Michigan, ie: rainy and cold before and after St. Patricks Day (the gods spare us on this one fine day every year). Try them once and you'll never switch back.
