"Great Sock!!" 04/06/12
By far my favorite sock for any activity in temps above 20. Very comfortable and don't develop a nasty stench when used rotated with another pair on long trips in the back country. Not sure about durability as I haven't had any over a year yet, but so far they are holding up well and not warping or relaxing too much.

I've worn these on a couple of day hikes in cold-ish temps (30-40F) and love them! The bottoms have extra padding where you need it; the heel and the ball of the foot. The fit is incredible- part elastane construction means stretch where you need it. The 70% wool construction means these puppies shed moisture and resist "foot-funk". The length is perfect for keeping high-top hiking boots from blistering your lower legs. My one complaint- Kinda pricey!

So comfortable I'm on my third pair. Love these socks for warm-ish weather hiking for their comfort, fit, and anti-stink. These socks dry well after wet days on the trail. I've worn a pair of these in cold weather but prefer a heavier sock for such activities. Wish they were cheaper!

Just wanted to thank Moosejaw for the free ten dollars I received in the mail that I used to purchase a pair of best socks in the world! You can't beat 10 dollar smart wools you could with five dollar smart wools or better yet FREE! There are some ideas for you guys. Happy New year!

I already own two pairs of these but wanted another because they are so great and Moosejaw was having a sale. I have used these Smartwool Light Crew Socks as my everyday work socks and they are awsome! The can also perform double duty when I go hiking with family in Durango, CO. No regrets with this purchase!

perfect for people who are walking in cold conditions. not just riding down the slopes on the weekends. these tie with my injiniis for overall comfyness, so maybe together they would be the perfect combo, i need to try that.... anyways pick a couple pairs up, its worth the price, they're you feet!
"No blisters and very comfortable" 11/01/11
These PhD socks are great. They hug your foot in all the right places and keep the sock from bunching up and causing hot spots. I use these all the way down to about 25 degree temperatures when I switched over to my heavier (and less comfortable) socks. I don't use any liner socks with these, and the socks never seem to get too sweaty. I used the same pair for 6 days straight on Kilimanjaro and my feet were always good to go the next day. I cannot recommend the PhD series of socks enough. Definitely worth the money.

I have worn these socks hiking and backpacking several times over the last 3 months. The amount of built in cushion is excellent. They are comfortable and breath quite well. I would recommend these socks to anyone. I would recommend hand washing because after a few times through the wash they got a little fuzzy on the outside. Nothing that I haven't seen with wool socks in the past though. Overall I am very happy with these socks and would buy another pair in a second.
