"Great Baselayer"  02/01/12

I sweat a lot, even when it's -20. I wear this as a baselayer, a mid-layer, then I'll wear a softshell over it, and I'll stay warm, whether I'm hiking, running, or XC-skiing. I wear it 3-6 times before I wash it, and it always smells great. Worth every penny, especially since it keeps you dry. Can't emphasis enough how important it is to be dry when you are outside and it's -20.

"Love it!"  01/12/12

Great Baselayer. I have this, and a IceBreaker Oasis Crewe. The smartwool is slightly looser fit, but still semi athletic fit. Smartwools MidWeight is 250weight, so keep that in mind when comparing with Ice Breaker. All the hype is true. It will wick away moisture just like poly, it won't stink like poly, and it will keep you warm unlike poly.Thumbs up! and thumbs up to MJ for being one of the BEST places to buy gear!!!

"Light but warm"  01/08/12

This is a great base layer and quite warm for its weight. I bought it mainly for traveling and rock climbing but I've been wearing it more often than I expected. Merino wool is awesome. My only complaint is that it's a bit short for my torso. I would like it to tuck into my pants farther but I have a fairly long torso at 6'2" so that won't be a a problem for most people (I bought a large).

"Very soft and very warm base layer"  12/31/11

I got this base layer because the previous ones I had bought were either too itchy or not warm enough. To me this base layer is perfect. I needed a base layer that was warm yet not too heavy as I plan to do some major backpacking with it. I have not worn it backpacking, but I have worn it out in cold weather and I am very satisfied with how warm it keeps me. I also wear this as a single layer around the house or out in public which makes it a great all around base layer. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality base layer that doesn't itch.

"Very nice and warm"  12/22/10

My rommmate swears by her smartwool gear and encouraged me to purchase this shirt and I have to say that I am very impressed! I am 6'1'' 200 lbs and I wouldn't say that I have a spare tire slung around my waist and the shirt fits great! the sleeves are a little short but I seem to have exceptionally long arms because almost all long sleeve things don't seem to fit.

"Soft, warm, and odor-free"  12/20/10

Forget polyester, this smartwool undershirt feels soft and comfortable against the skin, and even after wearing it night and day for a week (or more) it doesn't smell bad. And like any wool clothes, it offers insulation even during sweaty activities. I wore this under an Arcteryx softshell while cross-country skiing in 10 F conditions and stayed quite comfortable. As for sizing, I am 6' 1", 225 lbs (powerlifter chest), and the X-Large fits perfectly. My only problem is fear that my wife will swipe it sometime when I take it off!

"This baselayer keeps you warm, and you can wear it out... genius"  11/28/10

I bought this to wear on a two month trip to New Zealand. I alternated between this and an icebreaker mid-layer without washing either for two weeks at a time. Neither one gained a smell and with the merino wool both breathed fantastically. I'm 5'10 with an athletic build (175) and a medium was a perfect fit.
