True to size, form fitting base layer. Size up if you like a loose fit. If you have sensitive skin and usually wear soft cotton you'll notice, but it is unparalleled in technical comfort. This really is Tshirt weight and were it not for the label saying its 100% wool, you’d never guess that, though this shirt isn't Egyptian cotton either. I’ve worn this as a base layer while snowboarding in Utah, and as Tshirt in Africa. In Utah, the shirt was warm, and did its job wicking sweat away. This shirt is amazing. Like all Smartwool products I've used, it wicks moisture away and keeps me comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. It's comfortable on warm sunny days and also as a base layer in colder weather. If you're traveling and don't have the opportunity to wash your clothing as frequently as you'd like, these shirts are great because they absorb only minimal body odors and remain feeling fresh for days. My only complaint would be durability. I owned two of these shirts, and they saw daily wear for about a year before they wore out. To be fair, that year saw me in some hard wear situations and working long days in harsh environments. I would buy these again in a heartbeat!
My favorite use for this shirt is running. I sweat a lot, but in this shirt I stay dry. I live in Alaska and even in the upper 30s I'll wear just this shirt and the temperature feels perfect when you get going. Not too hot not too cold. I'm about 5'10 and 200lbs and the large fits just right.
This shirt is warm in cool weather (even when wet) without being too hot in warm weather. Very comfortable, not itchy. It is long and fits great. Very lightweight and just thick enough to be durable. No complaints. A great shirt.
