"Wear these all winter and be happy." 06/12/13
Put on a pair of these and your feet will instantly love you. Warm and comfortable for everyday wear as well as a when backpacking. The cushioned bottom makes hiking with a pack a breeze, well, at least on your feet. For warmer temperatures you might want to a lighter weight version of these.
"Great socks" 05/07/13
These socks keep my feet warm and dry, and are slightly cushioned without being bulky. Delightful to wear. I also bought some for my elderly father, who has some circulation issues and always has cold feet. He loves his socks as well. However, I think they fit a little tightly around the top for someone with very severe circulation issues. They are not uncomfortable; quite the contrary. When they are removed at the end of the day, there is a slight indentation around his ankle from the sock which may or may not ease up with continued washings. That may be a consideration for some people.
"A Must for Hiking" 04/11/13
If you learn any one thing from your time in the Army, your feet and stomach is what you march on. These socks with the proper boots (Vasque Breeze 2.0) make the hike a wonderful experience. I was hesitant when Russ at the Natick, MA store recommended them but, I have to say he was right on. I won't hike anything here in Northeast, Montana, Wyoming or Utah without them. Great purchase and well worth the money.
"All I wear when it is below 50 degrees" 04/10/13
Much more comfortable than cotton, much drier than cotton, and much warmer than cotton. I've owned some of these for 4.5 years, they still have their proper stretch and haven't gotten any holes (again, unlike my cotton socks). They can be too warm when it is warm out, but that is expected.
"The Gold Standard for Comfortable Wool Socks" 02/20/13
Great socks... I have about 6 pairs that are my go-tos for winter weather and trekking in cold conditions. These socks can wear all day and stay comfortable, provide cushion and relatively not smell bad. You can wear them into the shower at a hotel and let them dry overnight, and they will be ready to rock n' roll the next day. For warmer conditions you might want to get the hiker or lightweight socks, because these will get warm with pants on during summer months in the Northern Hemisphere. Although they are pricey compared to cotton socks they amortize their value over the amount you will wear them, and they will last through multiple washes.
"I call em "Perfect"" 01/09/13
Socks seem to be such simple things and not worthy of attention. Well, after spending a day with a wet wooly lump rubbing and cramping your toes you may rethink that indifference. These socks are great. Only pair I've ever worn that don't slip and bunch. In solid leather boots they will retain a little moisture, but I don't feel it at all until i take them off at night. That includes not feeling the moisture in below zero temps. I don't even wear a liner with these and i didn't get any blisters while breaking in my latest pair of boots.
"LIKE a Snuggie for your FEET" 12/20/12
I have used these socks for months on multi-day packing trips, in my work boots, and just to stay warm and cozy. They are Absolutely Amazing. Be careful though, velcro is its worst enemy :/ ..... and listen to your mother, dont put them in the dryer.
"As Close to Perfect as Possible" 10/04/12
I've hiked in these socks for 4 years now, and I have never gotten a blister, cold feet, or a callous. These socks are super comfortable, wick moisture extremely well, and keep rubbing at a minimum. I would definitely recommend these socks to anyone. Also, the socks are very durable. I've had the same 2 pairs for 4 years and they show minimum wear and tear! Awesome socks!
