The Omega 2 Person Convertible Tent by Sierra Designs walks the line between a three- and four-season tent, shedding 10 ounces in three-season mode. This innovative shelter drops pole sections, panels of the tent's body, and full-coverage doors to expose ample mesh if conditions allow. Headed out a little later in the year or into higher elevations, then simply add the reinforced pole sections and you've got yourself a double-wall four-season tent. Ours are the only tents capable of morphing from lightweight backpacking mode, to a full-on Winter bombshelter! Clip-Locs, Swift Clips, Tent Guard with Ultra Fresh, and DAC Featherlite SL poles make the Omega Convertible the choice for a pimped-out, versatile shelter.

"structurally sound but requires seam sealing" 02/16/09
I took this tent with me for the Torres del Paine Circuit. I holds up great against wind and driving rain. Only catch is that water was leaking in through the rain fly where there was a gap in the tape where the velcro strap is stitched. Problem solved with seam sealer. It also leaked a bit at the corners, again, seam sealer. Only other minor gripe is that the sides don't sit flush with the ground which can let water and wind under the floor and reduce usable floor space. Overall I'm happy with it though...
"solid bombproof pup" 08/15/08
Owned this tent for more than three years and never had a problem with its performance in driving rain or wet heavy snow. It's a tough little guy. However, it's a bit on the heavy side for its size and the vestibule is a bit akward to get in/out of. Overall it's a great tent for short trips in any weather and it helps build your quads and improve your flexibility.
"Can't go wrong" 05/27/08
Quality is great as usual with SD. It's hard to say anything bad about this tent it does what it says it will. Strong and dependable. If you only buy one tent, this would be it. In these days of ultra light tents, it's a pound or so heavy perhaps. Not a big deal if two are using it however. Only one door and vestibule.
