Love the Madness,

Great tent; light yet durable! As scoutmaster for our local Boy Scout troop, I do a lot of backpacking. My previous tent was a Sierra Designs model which was discontinued several years ago (it was too heavy for backpacking anyway). When the fly developed a slight leak due to years of abuse, I called Sierra Designs and they replaced the tent for free! This is such a great company that I ordered 20 SD Solo 2 tents for our troop. I have the Lightning HT for myself and love this tent. It is considerably lighter than my prior tent but they reduced the weight using clever design tweaks to the pole configuration rather than compromise on UL fabric. For example, the floor retains its 3000mm silicone rain protection barrier, which proved a great asset when I awoke one morning to find my tent surrounded by a moat of 3-inch deep water; but dry as a bone inside! This tent has survived 50-60MPH wind, heavy snow, 5-inch rain storms, and hail; I never questioned the durability of this shelter. I highly recommend this tent!
