"Awesome versatilitry and weight savings" 09/03/10

If conditions are moderate enough that you can get by with a tarp instead of a tent, then you can probably get by with a poncho instead of rain shells and a pack cover. This product provides both, for a huge weight savings. At 12 oz (I weighed it myself), it is as light as a very light rain jacket. But the construction is solid, with tough fabric, taped seams, grommets and reinforcing trim around the edges. The hood is thoughtfully designed with a large brim and drawcord that pulls the hood snugly around the head.

"Great versatility." 07/31/10

I compared many poncho-tarps on the market and this is the one with good grommets, proper size and heavier material to allow 3-season use. Using an emergency bivvy as either a ground sheet or a bivvy, I am confident in most wilderness. I also leave the rain jacket at home, so my only concern is what level of insulation to bring. Worth the money!

"Super Versatile" 11/05/09

First off, it packs into my metal cup and takes up no space. I've used it for the last three summers in my wildland fire pack. Also,it has sheltered three people during a heavy rain storm. The only con is that it's completely waterproof, therefore it does not breath.
