Cathole diggerThis trowel is lightweight, collapsible and has a compartment in the handle. The blade of the spade seems weak, but it is reinforced nylon. I haven't tried digging in frozen soil, but this could be a great solution for doing your business.

I wish it were a little pointier. It works OK, although that flat blade makes it hard to dig sometimes. I do like that it collapses to a smaller size. More durable than it looks
