The Sea to Summit Comfort Plus Insulated Mat is an insulated air mattress for toasty warm shut-eye on your backpacking adventures. The double layer air cells have been filled with Thermolite® insulation, only adding to the reasons the mat is able to boast an R-value of 5 for your sleeping comfort. The multi-functional valve allows you to quickly inflate and deflate, as well as fine tune the mat until you get the right amount of cushion between the cold, hard ground and your body. Rocky ground? No problem, as you're resting upon your very own throne of air while a hidden layer of Exkin® Platinum non-woven fabric reflects your body heat back at you.

FEATURES of the Sea to Summit Comfort Plus Insulated Mat

  • Exkin Platinum fabric and Thermolite insulation are combined to prevent radiant and convective heat loss
  • Multi-function valve for easy inflation, deflation and fine tuning of air pressure
  • Dual layer design ensures a level of built-in redundancy; if you do end up with a puncture in one layer of the mattress, the other layer remains fully functional
  • 40D rip-stop nylon face fabric offers the right balance between weight and durability
  • Comes with a quality stuff sack, a repair kit containing six self adhesive patches for repairing punctures in the field, and a spare silicone one-way valve flap
  • TPU lamination
  • Extended storage instructions: mat should be laid flat, folded as few times as possible with valve open

THERMOLITE is a high loft synthetic insulation. It features hollow-core and solid core fibers, which combine to provide lightweight warmth that stands up to constant use. When placed inside the Air Sprung Cells of Sea to Summit sleeping pads, it prevents heat loss from your body to the ground.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't think a sleeping pad could be so comfy This thing blew away my expectations of how comfy sleeping pads could be and set a new high water mark. Fairly light and very supportive, even for me with back problems. Crunchy and crinkly sound when you're on it, which is not uncommon. The thermal property will be very noticeable on milder days as it may get even uncomfortably warm underneath you. That said, if you're buying the insulated version, you'll hopefully be using it during colder weather or appreciate it more during a cold night or early morning. Not entirely convicted of the durability as time will tell, but the material is quite thin. This is the balance you strike for weight savings. I have a renewed faith in potential comfort outdoors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy The dual chambers are nice. I like to inflate the bottom chamber very stiff and leave the top a little less inflated. ,,,,The design is really neat - it doesn't push air to the extremities under pressure. Note that the width is actually 25.5", not 26" as you see listed online. ,,,,Highly recommend a pump sack...It takes a bit of pressure to fully inflate the first time as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome mats! We bought 2 of these to use for backpacking. We tested them out car camping last weekend. It was still pretty cold, we live in Utah, and there was still snow on the ground. I was super impressed with how warm and comfy these were. I'd say even more so than our thick car camping mats. Super stoked to take these backpacking! Great purchase so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT Product Super comfortable, leightweight, and packs small. It comes with 2 chambers; if you puncture 1 side, the other will keep you off the ground until morning.

How do these behave in a hammock?

Asked by: Charlie
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! While you can use an insulated mat in a hammock, it's best if you don't fully inflate it. It also helps if it's somewhat wide (> 20 inches) to help prevent it from popping out from under you. Some prefer to use just an underquilt and no pad. It's all based on personal preference, budget and includes some trial & error. Hope this helps you out.
