"Scarpa Italian Made Boots eock" 03/25/13
This boot not only is stylish it is rock solid. Scarpa boots are well made and comfortable out of the box. For me, I have found break in time to be minimal. The lugs on the soles offer great traction when heading back down Half Dome or heading down the AT with a 40lb Gregory Palisade 80 strapped to your back. You stay on your feet and not on your A$$.I own other Scarpa boots and if I have one issue, They seem to run narrow for us fat footed American's or maybe Italians have tiny feet IDK. That said I always buy a half size larger because I don't want my toes smashed up in the front of my boots heading downhill.

"Solid on the first hike." 02/24/13
Before actually hiking in the boots, I thought they felt a little too tight. I decided to just go for it and wear them on a hike anyway. We hiked 8 miles at Oak Mtn state park and they did great. Very comfortable and supportive. Best hiking boots yet. I will be taking them to the Tetons this summer.
"perfect right out of the box" 02/11/13
these are my first Scarpa boots. they are pretty true to size. comfortable right out of the box, may need just a little break in if starting on a long hike. i hear they are getting out of this color. big mistake in my opinion. thanks, wayne texas
"Solid all-around boot for anything from a day hike to light mountaineering" 11/27/12
Scarpas last until beyond the apocalypse, and they're comfy too! The main selling points for me on this boot were that they a) looked a lot like my old scarpas b) had a gore-tex membrane and leather upper and c) had a rubber toe bumper for scrambling around on rocks and stuff. On its first trip this boot did not disappoint. I crossed a few rivers, and the sole gripped the slippery rocks well, and the waterproofing held up well. The leather/rubber showed no signs of wear after a week on the granite of the Cp. anadian shield. I have a fairly low arch and foot on the slightly wide side, and these fit me fairly true to size. (Men's 45.5). Do give them at least a week to break in.
"Great boots, great site" 09/12/12
The boots needed no break in period, they look great, light weight, my feet feel better after a day in these boot than any of my other shoes or boots, I ordered the wide boots and they are a great fit, I like room for my toes so it was a great purchase
"I used to be a leather loving lugger. Now I'm a stoked synthetic spruker." 06/27/12
My fear of synthetic hiking boots that would be Insufficiently strong and fall apart were greatly changed by the Kaliash. After a long day in the boot I feel I could run a marathon with these beauties.
"On the trail this boot is like have a contiuous foot massage. Tough, rugged, BAD!" 04/12/12
I needed a boot with good heel hooks. I hate landing on my butt when going downslope and the ground moves under my feet. I also needed something that wouldn't leave me shoeless half way from nowhere to somewhere. Tried a Kailash and it was love at first lace. Streams in the Absarokas were running high last summer. We waded knee deep streams every day, walked in mud, snow, scree, brush, and ice; the waterproof features were overwhelmed. But, wet or dry, the Kailash held its shape throughout and was ready to go every morning. Nicked, scratched, and worn they never put me on my butt. Seriously, they are light, tough, comfortable, and look good to boot. All this and never a hot spot or blister!
