Heavy. If you're going to be doing a lot of walking up hill, though, prepare for an upper leg workout as the boot restricts complete dorsi/plantarflexion. The first 30 minutes of walking everyday I can definitely tell I'm wearing the boots but my body soon adapts and my feet thank me. The leather gets beaten. Took on rocky terrain and they looked rough After. Not a concern for me. Overall great. Took me from Ga to Pa on the AT and my feet have never felt so good at the end of a day or at the end of an outing.
I was looking for a boot that would work as a backcountry boot and as a frontcountry boot. As a us park ranger i needed a boot that performed and looked good while doing it. This boot foots that bill and then some. The leather takes a great cordovan shine and the vibram just keeps kicking. I'm on my second pair, my first pair has been retired to backcountry as the leather got pretty scuffed after a summer scrambling the badlands but it still takes a shine. In a sentence... Damn these boots are good.
These boots will be a little stiff, but hang on, they are great and will mold to your feet. I have backpacked well over 3000 miles and these are the best boots I have evah worn.
Comfy, sturdy, and awesome! A great boot for long, romantic walks on the beach or a week long back packing trip through Yellowstone. Make sure you order a half size bigger, as Scarpa's seem to run a bit small.
this boot feels about 100 times warmer than my roots brand boots. It looks heavy but didn't feel the weight when put them on. The leather is really really thick, again, compare against my roots brand boots. Can't wait to try them out in Canadian winter!
"If you have to do serious, rough trail, hiking that is just short of mountaineering, then buy these!"

The fit is superb as is the stability. Unlike many boots out there, they are not "clunky". I was using Kenetreks before these and although they are good, fairly light weight boots with good traction, they are wide and kind of clunky. These boots are well designed. They give you what you need for hiking- nothing more, nothin less. You will appreciate their simplicity, good construction, and broken-in comfort. Consider this: buy a pair for your hiking/hunting and when you decide that you love them, just buy another pair for casual wear. Problem solved.
After one to many bad experiences with my Asolo GTX boots (sore feet, blisters on both ends) I decided it was time to cash them in and look for a superior boot. This boot is it. They are heavy and a bit stiff at first, but take the time to break them in and they are extremely comfortable. Even before broke in they were comfortable to hike in, just stiff. The quality appears to be top notch and I like the all leather look. These boots have been great for backpacking, hiking, and around town in winter. I would recommend these boots.

2 days later and order tracking still says processing.. So i hit the "What does processing mean" link. It's broken. I'm mildly peturbed at Moosejaw on this order because i called a store to get them delivered in-store,and the store claimed this product was on back order and it would be 3 weeks before they will recieve it. The next day I call 877moosejaw and they tell me they have the order in stock and it is shipping.. still waiting.. I ordered a pack from a much lesser company the same day and it is scheduled for arrival today. Would have loved to gotten to try them on at one of the 4 moosejaw stores in my area.
Love this boot. Fits my blister prone feet excellently! Fits a half size larger usually, try it on before you buy. Waterproof with Nixwax and they are like gumboots in water. Real one piece leather.
"A sweet pair of the most comfortable hiking boots you will ever own."

You will fall in love with these hike boots, not only do they look good they feel good too. They will take a little bit to wear in but definately worth every last penny. After trying on pair after pair i found that there was no boot quiet like this one. I highly recommend a pair of Scarpa SL M3's for any fair dinkum hiking out there. Buy them!!!
This boot looked awesome, but I was worried about the weight. After trying it on time after time with it on one foot and a different boot on the other this is what I found EXTREME COMFORT! Every time I took my boots off, my non-SL M3 boot foot has sore spots and the beginnings of blisters - while my foot with the SL M3 felt great. This boot weights a little more, but the construction is top notch and the comfort is unbeleviable.
