"A very comfortable boot."  01/06/12

A great boot from Scarpa. This boot is waterproof, very comfortable, and has a very nice sole. Great ankle protection and stiffness for the heavy loads on the trail. This shoe is rated a hiking boot by Scarpa but is also a great backpacking boot. With a coolmax liner and a wool sock my feet stayed nice and warm even hiking in the snow.

"Blows the laces off of the SL M3 and that is saying a lot!!!!"  12/20/11

I've owned the SL M3 boot for years and felt they were the best model on the market. After purchasing the Kailash I realized they are in 2nd place.

"Rugged and comfortable!"  12/15/11

Great boot, love the aggressive tread and heel thickness. Grips well and the gore-tex works out wonderfully. I use these for my work outdoors on trail as well as recreation. I foresee them holding for a long time.

"Comfy, durable, lightweight, nice looking boot."  12/13/11

Bought these boots because they were highly recommended in Backpacker magazine. They did not disappoint! I've found them to breathe better than my previous all-leather gore-tex boots. They are also lighter weight with the synthetic upper instead of leather. They have done a good job keeping water out in rain and snow. I love these boots. I think they have many more years left in them.

"Light Weight, Great boot... not for wide feet."  11/14/11

I am an avid backpacker and chose to try these Kailash GTX's as my boots. IMO footwear is one of the most important part of hiking/backpacking so I bought these boots due to their high ratings. I was initially very impressed with them. They are light, waterproof, have great grip and are comfortable. To my disappointment, my feet (not terribly wide, but not skinny either) pushed the sides of the boots out just enough that during one trip through the Grand Canyon they began falling apart.Scarpa replaced my boots free-of-charge. I re-enforced the seam whose stitches had pulled out (i reenforced them with superglue). The boots have been in use for a little while not without any signs of wear.

"Best Boot I have ever had."  11/11/11

My new Scarpa Kailash GTX felt like my favorite 10 year old Merrells with in the first 2 miles in them. My old Merrells feel like bed room slippers, they are so worn in and over loved to say. The Scarpa Kailash GTX are made in Italy no China and without a doubt the best made boot or shoe I have ever owned.

"Finest footwear I've ever purchased"  11/03/11

I used these during a visit to Glacier National Park two months ago. I hiked in all conditions, including trudging across mushy snowfields. These boots performed perfectly: My feet remained dry and blister-free. No hot spots and unparalleled traction over all manner of surfaces. What a joy to use!

"Awesome Boots"  10/27/11

These boots rock right out of the box. Have worn these boots on several 3-4 day trips in Western NC, WV, VA, and NH. Some of those trips were spent hiking all day in the rain, and through streams and muckity-muck, and my feet stayed warm and dry the whole time. They also accomodate strap-on crampons quite well too.

"Moosejaw couldn't get a order right to save their soul. 3 times and they still got it wrong."  10/22/11

I will most likely order this boot from another store. I have never ordered from Moosejaw before. They are sending the wrong size boots out. Looks like the same thing happend to me as other reviews I saw about them service. Bad service. 2 orders with in 15 minutes of each other and they can't fix either one.I wouldn't buy from them. This was my first and last experience.

"Great Mud-Kicker"  09/26/11

This is a great boot. Did a 10 mile hike in the rain, and ran this boot through the "muckity-muck". Kept my foot dry the entire time. Great ankle support, and good grip on rock.

"Best Boots EVER"  08/17/11

I had to get these boots because my old boots literally fell apart on a hike! Hiking up and up and losing sole the whole way, but because that led me to these boots I consider it a necessary evil. I've trekked through Nepal, Peru and around Australia and these are by far THE BEST boots. They are light, durable and precise. They fit my foot perfectly. I haven't had a moment of regret with these boots. No blisters, no pressure points, no slipping. Nada. Recommending these to everyone.
