way better than i expectedI chose this over the MSR sweetwater because of weight and pack space issues. considering i already carried two platypus packs that i use to collect water before boiling and filling my camel-back, i really only needed the filter and syringe, but bought the full kit for the off chance that i may decide to go back to lake/car camping and the larger capacity drip option was a nice feature. It is clearly labeled, almost dummy proof, and effective at filtering all the nasty little floaties out all the stream water i have ran through it. as small as it is it will easily fit in any cranny in your pack, and unless the water where you are going requires a carbon filter to eliminate the funky taste it is more than enough to do the job. maintenance is also considerably easier than other available models

Great value for what your get and very easy to use!I got the Sawyer Squeeze after reading some gear reviews which gave this filter very high marks for the amount of filtration it offered which is on par with the very best water filters (aside from the chemical-based filter systems). It's extremely easy to use. Just don't forget to follow the initial 'wetting' procedures as specified in the instructions. I took it out brand new without doing that and I wasn't able to get standing well water to go into the pouch because it hadn't been prepped. Luckily, it was just a short overnight camp and I already had extra water.,,,,The only complaint I have is that it doesn't pack down as small as you would think. The spout on the pouch is stiff plastic and the actual pouch is plastic as well so it can't roll up very small and results in an awkward footprint. Pair that with the actual filter and the backwash cleaning syringe and it takes up a fair amount of space in your pack (although it is very light).

Simple to useNice simple filtration system. Very light weight and much smaller than a regular filtration system; you still need to carry the backwashing syringe. I bought the whole system to be sure to have anything needed to filter off a spigot or even a bucket, but have not used these extras.
