Get thisI always get bit by mosquitoes. On a sunny day they find me. When going west last summer I tried to this to keep away the mosquitoes and ticks and I made it home without a tick and nearly zero mosquito bites. I was only bit when I wasn’t wearing clothing with this on it. I sprayed my clothing for my trip to India, where a mosquito bite is not a joke. It was low risk season for malaria and I decided not to take malaria medicine. I was not bit. Great product. I would still take malaria medicine during a high risk trip, but I was very impressed with this product and will continue to use it.

Worth its weight in goldWhat can I say? Mosquitos usually love me--but not after I got this spray! A few months ago, I went to Peru to spend 4 days + 3 nights hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. No malaria risk, apparently, but still lots of potential for bug bites. Before I left, the travel nurse recommended I use this on my clothing/gear in conjunction with the 3M Ultrathon lotion repellent. It smelled like chemicals when I was spraying my clothes and pack, so I recommend wearing a mask during the process. At least it was easy to apply and it dried within 6 hours (though I let it dry overnight before packing). After it dried, there was no smell at all! You almost couldn't even tell I treated my clothes, except that I was amazed at how well this worked in keeping bugs off my socks, pants, shirt, and pack. Other people had bugs trying to land on them, but none ever came near me. I'd strongly recommend if you want to keep the buggers away!
Is this safe for all types of clothing gear? specifically goretex, softshells, wool?

Hiya! Thanks for the question! This product is compatible with almost all fabrics but it will have a harder time bonding to tightly woven fabrics, like rain flies and waterproof shells. Hope this helps!
