Rated 4 out of 5 by from good shoe for the money I really like the feel of these shoes. I use them mostly for cross-training at a gym. The fit runs about a 1/4 size small in my opinion but that was easy to fix thanks to Moosejaws rockin return policy. Comfort is primo in these. I have a mid to high volume foot with a low arch and average width. as for durability and construction, there are some cosmetic issues. the stitching around the tongue is loose (I think these were the first or last on the thread bobbin). Ive seen plenty of these shoes that had no issues in that regard. ,,,,Bottom line, these are great shoes for the money. I scored mine on sale here at MJ. I'll get another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks to the French These shoes converted me to Salomon. Though I've run in shoes from Oregon based companies, Maryland based companies and two Japanese companies, these French headquartered, Finnish owned wonders are awesome for every type of running that I do. I've run on roads, trails and tough mudders with these shoes and they remain a staple in my running 'drobe. The fact that I took them on a tough mudder and was able to wash them back to life and still use the drawstring showed me their durability and quality. These are all-around running shoes and though not waterproof, they are much more durable than other shoes I've used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate all-purpose shoe This is my 4th pair of these shoes. I love them. I use them for work (construction), hiking, errands, etc. The drawstring lacing makes them easy to take off and on and adjust. They are really durable and moderately priced for what you get. I don't think you'll be disappointed in buying a pair of these shoes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very supportive almost stiff trail runner Overall happy with this shoe however it is very supportive and stiff compared to my other Salomons. Narrow midshoe and tight toebox. I was able to break them in after a couple of runs but you could easily order a half size larger than normal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wide toe box, great heal support! I bought those to replace my Nike FreeRun since I have wide feet and can't handle it if there are pressure points in workout/running shoes. Those shoes have an incredible heal support. It is even a little to tight at first, but they broke in well in the meantime. The lacing system is really convenient and the shoe is overall on the medium weight range. The soles are pretty stiff and very grippy. I am thinking about using them for hiking/backpacking as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe for Road or Trail If you are not a super Athlete who runs 10,000 miles a week these are great for both trail and road. If you are running super technical trails though I would go with a more aggressive tread. I love these shoes for all around running and hiking, plus they aren't too expensive either. This is my second pair of XR's and they never disappoint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable Shoes Since my purchase of these shoes I have received several compliments concerning the great appearance they have. Alone the do look great but the part that matters is the comfort of the shoes. When walking other brands made my arch hurt and thus far these have delivered comfort when walking or hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes, cannot go wrong These shoes are excellent right out of the box. I am military and run every day. Shoes have handled every terrain I have thrown at them. The shoes even made it through my dog (dutch shepherd) after leaving her home for too long one day.

If you are unsure of how to find your foot measurement, use the instructions below. You will need a sheet of paper, ruler, pen, and a pair of socks you intend on wearing with the shoes you pick out.

• While wearing the socks, stand on the sheet of paper and place the heel of your foot against the wall. Make sure your heel is wedged firmly against it.

• Use the pen and ruler to draw a straight line just in front of your big toe.

• Use the ruler to measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew in front of your big toe.

• Once you have your measuremet, refer to the Foot Measurement Size Conversion chart above.

• Now treat yourself to a candy bar. You've worked hard today.
