"This is a great shoe" 03/01/12
The only problem I have with this shoe is the bottom two loops for the lacing system. They do not have the plastic inserts like the other six loops on the shoe. over time the lace cuts through the bottom loops. Other than that, it has been a great shoe. I love having a waterproof shoe that is so comfortable in every situation.

The only problem I have with this shoe is the bottom two loops that the laces went through. They lasted for a while, but over time the laces cut through them. I see that they have fixed this in the second model. Other than that, this has been a great shoe for short and long hikes. I love having a waterproof shoe that is so comfortable for every situation.

These and I have done most of the major features in Yosemite. Half Dome via JMT, El Cap via Tamarack flat, etc. I hate high top boots and I hate wet feet so these are just about the most perfect shoes ever. There have been some complaints about the lacing system but it has never given me any worries. Great nuts and bolts shoe. Also the conta-grip sole does the job just as well as Vibram.

I have owned a set of these since last Christmas. They work good in some icy conditions, though granted there really isnt much that will get perfect traction on ice. But since the winter i have used them for everything from train running and backpacking, to just kickin it around town. They are amazingly comfortable. The only complaint i have is my heel has rubbed a hole in the heel of my shoe back to the plastic heel cup and if i don't wear good socks on long hikes i can end up with a blister. All in all it is a great shoe and i would recommend it to anyone. And I will probably be buying myself a new set when these finally wear out.

I am constantly searching for the perfect pair of shoes to wear on a day to day basis. Whether walking to class, checking out downtown Berlin, or running some trails. These shoes are perfect for all of these. These shoes are waterproof gore-tex. Even though they are gore tex my feet do not over heat, even in the Phoenix summer.

No one wants to spend money on a specific shoe for hiking, trail running, and adventure racing. I've used this shoe doing all three and it always gets the job done. I love them so much on I'm my third pair! Which leads me to my only complaints... The treads won't last much over 125 miles. (not sure shoe life is measured that way but it's the best I have) And the Goretex waterproofing won't last forever. My last pair left my feet soaking wet by just hiking in tall grass with the morning dew. Left me very disappointed as the only thing worse than hiking in wet socks is finding out you have celiac disease. (look it up, complete bummer)
"solid light hiking shoe" 08/08/11
I've used this shoe from trail runs to 15 mile hikes and I stayed comfortable through all of it. The tread works well when maneuvering rocky terrain in a run. I love the quick cinch shoe strings. The shoes stay on firm, I never worry about my laces loosening. The goretex along with a good wool sock have never failed my. I have yet to get wet feet. The goretex doesn't impede airflow to point of where my feet are over heating.

Took these to Europe for a 5 month adventure, and man, they saved my feet so many times. The Goretex is really the best part...my feet were always warm and dry when everybody else was complaining about their socks. I also used them occasionally for jogging on pavement, and they worked well for that too. A little heavier on the feet than the none goretex shoe, and felt a little bit more like a hiking boot (more support maybe?), but really great shoe. I wear a half size smaller than I normally do in my street shoe. Also, in the summer, your feet can get a little warm in them.

Bought a pair for myself and a pair for my girlfriend before heading to South America for the fall. They were the perfect shoe. Great on trails, and comfy in the cities. Light enough that I didn't mind them in my pack if I wasn't wearing them.
