"Best Shoe" 03/25/10
I have tried a couple pair of GTX shoes bounced around from North Face to Salomon, but nothing has beat these shoes. I love them I wear them every day and beat them to hell, yet they stay the same and i have never had any trouble with water coming into the shoes. They can handle just about anything I have come across. Salomon makes the best shoes. Way to go

This is a comfortable and durable shoe. I have had them for a while now but just used them on a overnight trail. These shoes exceeded expectations. They kept my feet dry and warm in 20 degree weather. I like the synch up system. It keeps the shoes snug and tight on your feet. Awesome shoes!
"I live in these shoes" 12/30/09
I have had 6 pairs of these shoes, and in fact have four pairs now. Great at keeping your feet dry even through puddles and rain. I have worn through the heal on each pair I have, but after months and months of use. Very stable, comfortable and very easy on off (you can put them on while still sleeping to take a dog pee...trust me I know).Fantastic shoe! (Hey Salomon...do i get a free pair for saying such kind words?)

I wore these all last summer and loved them. I have, over the last few months, really increased my mileage and can no longer achieve a good fit even in wide sizes. Too bad, because these were absolutely light, breathable, durable, and comfortable. If you can get a good fit, buy them and you will enjoy them.

Ok not really, but you'll feel like it when everyone else is dealing with blisters and sore feet from their clunky hiking boots after a long day on the trail. I'm comfortable wearing these on 8-10 mile days over mixed terrain and with a 25lb pack. I've taken these shoes through the backcountry of Yosemite, Glacier, Canyonlands, etc and have never felt like I've needed anything more substantial. I'm on my second pair and will probably never go back to a hiking boot unless faced with sub 20 temps, 30lb+pack, or scrambling over a lot of loose rock. I've worn Salomon shoes for a long time and found that I had to go a half size up with these.
"Great Buy" 11/16/09
These were a great buy! I got them in August but didn't get a chance to really try them out till a weekend Oct. trip to WI. Even without going through my usual "break-in" sequence these shoes were extremely comfortable. Essentially 14 miles of hiking right out of the box and no blisters. I also can't neglect to mention how good the waterproofing is. If you plan on being near water/mud/swamp these shoes are for you. A little heavy for trail running, but great for hiking. The lace system takes some getting used to as well, but overall a GREAT investment.
"Third Pair and still love'm" 10/26/09
This is my third pair of the XA Pro and I am still happy with them. Each season, I replace my running shoes and put hundreds of mile of hiking and trail running on them. Needless to say they don't make it more than a year, but they are great shoes

Bought these with a CO trip in mind. Needed something to hit the trails. Tested them on the Palos trails outside of Chicago and they fit great, no slipping and were able to keep the crap out of the inside of the shoe.

I am on my third pair of these shoes. I absolutely love them. If I had to choose between these shoes and my girl, well, she would need a pair of these shoes because she would be sent walking. I have also recommended these shoes to friends and several have bought them.

By far the most comfortable trail-runner ever! Great construction with a sweet lace up thingy that I was'nt sure about at first, but now love it. It makes the shoes easy to loosen up when needed. Two Thumbs Up!

These are my first Gore Tex running shoes, and so far they are great, initially I got them for spring trail running, but now I use them for snowshoeing and getting to work on rainy west coast days...only once for dinner at the in-laws though. That is another story. I love being able to tuck in the laces so they don't get caked trail goodies stuck on them. If I had to say one thing bad about them, is my feet do tend to sweat in them if it is too warm, great for wet days but put on your other shoes for warm/dry running.
