Fits Small, Needs More GripThe Salewa Men's Wildfire GTX Shoe appears to be a good approach moderate trekking shoe for all conditions, from the Porkies in the western UP of Michigan to the Wrangells of Alaska. ,,,,My experience with this shoe was that it ran at least 1/2 a size small - beware. This is puzzling since I have had several Salewa shoes in the past, the latest being the Alp Trainer GTX Hiking Shoe. That one as well as others were true to size.,,,,In addition, for a shoe of this classification, I was expecting better grip in the Vibram sole. ,,,,On the upside, it is very visible and stark shoe, if that's what you're looking for. The quality is excellent featuring top notch workmanship.

Great shoe right our of the boxGot these shoes and wore them right our of the box on a 15 mile hike through streams and trails where we climbed over 3000 ft in elevation on our hike. Even though my feet did get wet from falling in a stream, shoe dried out without issues and did not get a single blister. Great shoe, would highly recommend.

My other hiking boots were 12 years old.....new technology is freakin amazing!First let me say that I am so impressed that moosejaw loves me!...they love me so much that they sealed my box with a kiss and even gave me some chocolate.....not bad for a first date! ( This is the first time that I have ever ordered from moosejaw.). My only complaint is that KR forgot to put her number on the her SWAK sitcker.......Now as for the hiking shoes....freakin amazing fit!...I did use the advice of the other dude that posted and ordered a 1/2 size larger...great choice...they fit great....my old hiking boots (Asolo) have given me about 12 years of great hiking experience....Now that I am old and fat, I had to go with lighter weight gear because I am carrying extra body weight....I cant give it a love it yet because I haven't been hiking in them. As soon as I take them on the trail ill come back again and finish my report....I have used 862 no 872 characters why does that number keep getting bigger?..so I have about fifty characters left. Why do spaces count? they shouldnt
