The Salewa Men's Wildfire GTX Shoe appears to be a good approach moderate trekking shoe for all conditions, from the Porkies in the western UP of Michigan to the Wrangells of Alaska. My experience with this shoe was that it ran at least 1/2 a size small - beware. This is puzzling since I have had several Salewa shoes in the past, the latest being the Alp Trainer GTX Hiking Shoe. That one as well as others were true to size.In addition, for a shoe of this classification, I was expecting better grip in the Vibram sole. On the upside, it is very visible and stark shoe, if that's what you're looking for. The quality is excellent featuring top notch workmanship.
