I purchased these pants along with a number of others returning all of them but this pair and another that were way too big but he wore them..so to the back of the closet with that pair until he is like 12. Any-hoo, this pair has proven to be perfect in many ways:Adjustable velcro waist tabs are a must when you are 8 and growing, they run true to size otherwise. Heavy duty out fabric to withstand the inevitable torture from an 8 year old boy.Style cool factor which looks nice enough to wear to school when needed.Warmth and function to keep him well covered during many outdoor adventures.
