The Eos Headlamp by Princeton Tec takes self-contained battery lighting to the next level! The combination of a Maxbright 1 Watt LED and the Princeton Tec-designed optimized lens/collimator maximizes the beam by balancing long-throw with localized lighting. This Princton Tec LED headlamp recognizes that different amounts of light are needed for different activities- Princeton Tec equipped the Eos with 3 brightness levels and a blinking mode; further ensuring that the Eos will remain at Constant Brightness as long as the batteries have sufficient voltage. The use of high-grade materials ensures durability and strong resistance to water/ weather/environment conditions.

"Decent light for the price" 09/28/11
I purchased an EOS to upgrade my Aurora headlamp. I use the headlamp for bicycle commuting, backpacking, camping, car work, and trying to find my underwear in the dark. The pivot mechanism on the first light I received did not provide enough resistance to keep the light angled, thus the light would fall down if I moved around quickly. I wrote Princeton Tec and they replaced the light. The new light works great, is bright, but isn't breathtaking. From a design standpoint, I can tell that the light will not be as sturdy as my old Aurora (but it's definitely brighter).Bottom line: It's good enough for daily use biking home at night and weekend camping trips.
"good but no red light" 07/31/11
its waterproof, durable, has many settings etc and is fine aside from the absence of a red light for night vision. illuminates a solid circle of area past 50 yards. if your doing anything more than walking, it will bounce around, but for the price its a solid headlamp. the headband is fairly wide which is nice and makes it feel stable on your head. super easy to put batteries in.
"Comfy and bright" 06/20/11
I love this thing. 3 brightness levels plus strobe is great. I especially like that the first click sends it to full, and if you don't click again within a few seconds your next click just shuts it off instead of having to cycle through all the settings to get it to shut off like some other products I've used.
"Good headlamp, lots of features not super powerful" 05/29/11
its nice in that it has a bunch of features, 4 light settings, wide tilt range, fairly comfortable strap. however, its not super powerful, but should be suitable for most peoples needs. good for all sorts of things from going to the bathroom without turning super bright lights on to actually walking around in the dark. it does have a pretty tight screwdriver seal if waterproofness is a concern.
"Excellent brightness, cool regulation feature." 04/26/10
Brightness for trail finding at night is great, it is plenty bright with a nice spread. The EOS has high, med, low as well as flashing, so I can use high when it is really dark, low for reading in the tent, and medium the rest of the time. I'm used to just high and low so the additional setting is a plus. The regulated feature turns it down to medium if there is not enough power to run high. This is much better than past lamps where you just run out of power without warning. Comfort is standard, mostly forgot it is there if left on for a while. Note: stats on moosejaw say this lamp is 70 lumens, product packaging claims it is 5O.
"This headlamp rocks!" 03/25/10
I have had this headlamp for three years and it has never let me down. It is very bright for a AAA powered headlamp. The single LED is much better than others sporting 3,4,5 smallers LED's. I was on a recent backpacking trip and got mad compliments on it by my hiking buddies who own multiple LED Petzl, Black Diamond etc. headlamps. I had to lead the way on the trail! Bright, Versatile, AAA powered Headlamp for a Great Price!
"GREAT HEADLAMP: THE BEST" 03/08/10
I have spent 8 months in afghanistan with this headlamp, its like a headlight, everyone sees it and wants one, it has held up in the shower (no electricity) and the dust and storms overseas. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice headlamp and hates the dark.
"the regulated LED is the best feature" 01/06/10
This headlamp has a regulated LED that means you get awesome battery life and a constant steady output. Once the voltage of the batteries drops below the point it can sustain high mode it will drop to medium and only operate in medium and low. This method of regulation is the best of any headlamp I have seen.
