"Always wear these for Hiking/Backpacking"
Been using these for 1+ years for 20+ hikes. Comfortable, quick drying, breathable, stylish, lightweight and stretchy. These are my go to pants for hiking and backpacking. I love the versatility of having shorts when its hot and pants when its cold/bushwhacking. Only complaint is the price and I should have sized down, but thats my fault. I was 34 waist and I went with the large which fit great, but now I'm a 32 because I lost weight and wish I had a medium. These fit true to size. Great pants. I would buy these again when my current pair wears out.
These are really nice pants - Best pair of convertible pants I own. They are very comfy and look nice. The length of the converted shorts is perfect just slightly below the knee cap (at least on my body). I would give 5 stars but there are a couple things that could be better about these pants.1 the attached belt goes around the entire waist but is stitched to the pants near the second belt loop this makes it so when you tighten the belt the fabric bunches up between the first two belt loops and can't be distributed throughout the entire waist. the only other negative is that where the zipper is sown to the leg there is some extra zipper material that can come down below the fabric enclosing the zipper and rub your leg the wrong way. Pricey but awesome. I thought other people were a little overboard in their reviews about loving the pants so much the wanted to marry them (and they probably are) But they are my favorite pants and shorts I recommend them especially if they are on sale
Bought these for my 27 year old son. He has backpacked on the AT twice in the winter. Loves the freedom of movement, even with thermals on. He is 6'4" tall and the talls are finally long enough. I am looking for a pair for me now!
I have had these pants for almost a year. I've used them mostly climbing indoors, but have worn them on several outdoors climbing trips. I also use them when traveling and when I just want to dress comfortably/casual. They have held up great - no tears or broken zippers. The material is great for climbing, as it has a little stretch to it. FYI - I wore these on a trip once and some of the zippers came up red on the new TSA scanners. No worries, I got a free pat down out of it :/.
"Is It Weird This Is Called The Bottom Line But It Shows Up On Top?"
Bought these pants (shorts? Shants? Shants) before a recent camping/climbing trip. These pants not only felt great but kept me warm at night/nice and comfortable during the day with the bottoms zipped off. I think these might be my new favorite pair of pants - I haven't taken them off in over a month. (Don't worry, I washed them so they don't smell, I just sat on top of the washing machine with my feet in the hole. It's cool.) Definitely recommend these shants if you're heading somewhere with significant temperature changes during the course of the day, especially if you need to pack light, or even if you're just the kind of guy that wants to always have a pair of shorts at the ready.
I was skeptical when I ordered the convertibles since I had owned a different brand of convertible pants and was not satisfied. When I received these in the mail and put them on immediately to see if the zipper connecting the pants was heavy and irritating, it was not and continues to remain comfortable. These are excellent for when the day starts out chilly and ends up warming up.
Yes it is true, these pants are the love of my life. I keep touching them to make sure they are still on my legs. The comfort and quality of these pants are top of the line. The material is fantastic and can't be beat. These pants stretch and move along with you during your activities. They provide your legs with just the right amount of space, not tight fitting. nor extremely baggy. The fit around a shoe is superb as well. To sum it up, buy these pants (hopefully your size is right) and you will not be let down.
I bought these pants not too long ago and absolutely love them. I was concerned on how they were going to feel with a water resistant coating on them, but after wearing them... They might be the most comfortable pants I own. They are simply amazing. I went for a 4 day hike with them in wet/raining conditions. After hiking for hours, brushing up against wet leaves, etc. I was still dry. I even skipped putting on my rain pants during a quick shower and the rain just rolled off. The price tag is a bit much but they are worth every cent! I'll be buying a second pair.
Yeah, they are breathable, fast drying, stretchy, etc.. That's all up there in the description. Real-world, these pants are truly addicting! I have retired my mountain biking shorts, my yoga pants, and my favorite 10-yr old convertible pants in favor of these. Last year I took a nasty whip while climbing that tore my shirt halfway off but the pants came through without a scratch...just some red mud from sitting down to recover. The zippers sometimes get caught under my knee when placing a foot extremely high, but otherwise they have got to be the most comfortable things I've ever had on my lower body..
I know the sticker price is high but trust me they are worth every penny. These bad boys don't even have a scratch after about 10 miles of bushwacky, prickly, hiking/climbing. Turning them into a short it very convenient. The Zion pant is so bad ass I can't help but get upset whenever my pair are in the wash!
