Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Filter I have had the gravity filter for a couple of months, and i have had great results. It isn't any faster than a pump filter, but it is nice to walk away while it works. I couldn't see myself going back to a pump filter. I do have concerns that larger chunks of debris will lodge and clog the input. It would be nice to have some prefilter feature. I bought this item in pieces; i did initial buy the hose kit. The filter barb and oem hoses seem to be 3/8", while many other filters use what i think is 1/4"; so make sure you have the right size hose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best filters on the market! We(3 buddies and myself) took this filter into the Enchantments, in Washington state. It easily kept clean water coming all weekend long. The flow rate is respectable, and no sore arm from pumping or falling into a lake while crouched over trying to find a good silt free spot to filter from, just scoop up the water bring it back to camp and voila.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT Filter I went on a 40 mile backpacking trip with 6 Venture Scouts. These are teenage boys that eat and drink ALOT. I bought this filter after being advised to try this one from my Sweetwater that I have always used. This filter was great when I got into camp. It would filter the 4 L of water in less than 5 min and the water was great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest purifier I have ever used Okay, so over a course of 45 years I have done it all when it comes to treating water - boil, chlorine, iodine, pumps, steri-pens, and now the gravity feed. They all have their problems, even this, but of all of them I find GravityWorks the easiest. No pumping, no long waits, no foul taste, and no batteries to remember (packing extras in cold weather).,,,,The down side to this is also the plus side - you fill up a "dirty water" reservoir with untreated water, put the outflow tube into either a bottle or another reservoir, and raise the "dirty" water higher than the clean container, then wait for it to drain. This means two things:,,,,Carrying a reservoir for the dirty water, and keep it away from anything you don't want contaminated. I carry a 1-gal ziplok bag and stash the dirty container into it between uses. MARK THE DIRTY CONTAINER SO YOU DON'T CONFUSE THEM!,,,,Depending on what you use for the clean water, it may not be easy to do. A bottle stands on its own, but a reservoir doesn't.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Filter I bought this filter to use with some ADK high peak trips, and various canoe portages. It works great, fixes taste, color, no second guessing a water source. The only issue I have is that the cartage is not the easiest to dry after use. While I leave it out in the sun for a few warm dry days, it would be nice if there was a way to ensure it was dry and not subject to mold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this filter! My favorite camp tool. I have owned mine for over two years. It has done a variety of car camping. Large group 100 mile treks, Small group ultra light 50 mile sprints. The weight is slightly higher then some other kits, and far lighter then most, but the ease of use more then makes up for it. Plus I use the clean bag or my pack water bladder as my primary hydration tool in lieu of bottles or a third bag, I just detach the clean hose from the filter and put a bite valve on. So my complete water/hydration kit weight is lighter or extremely close to any ultra light setup I've directly compared it to. Using it is a breeze, I've not had any other system even come close. I own a Sweetwater and Katadyn, and good friends have the sawyer squeeze and mini. So many hours of my life spent pumping water. Gravityworks is the only filter that gets used if I'm there. Regardless how many people in the group or how long we intend to stop. On a hike through Zions park recently the water sources were difficult but they would've been with any system. I used my camp cup/pot to collect and then pour into my dirty bag. Since anything from the cup would be boiled anyway. But I still washed and rinsed the cup with now fresh filtered water on principle. Can't recommend it highly enough. You absolutely will not regret the purchase. I've filtered some murky/ silt filled water and it still came out delicious. I backflush regularly, it's sometimes shocking what comes out after.
