The Ultra Headlamp by Petzl is going to go further than most. Pure Power by Petzl - Ultra-powerful and ergonomic headlamp designed for intense activities such as treks and running. This Petzl Headlamp offers ultra-powerful, regulated lighting (350 lumens) and a wide and intense beam that will last for the entire activity. Designed for action, the ULTRA is held securely on the head. This Petzl Headlamp is extremely reliable: in all weather conditions, with long burn-times, the power level is easily verified. The ULTRA’s accessories allow the headlamp to adapt to the user’s needs. Most notably, the optional extension cord allows the battery pack to be disconnected from the headband to reduce the weight carried on the head. If I had my choice, I would always grab Petzl headlamps at the shop, just because.

"Batteries are $125 each and don't last long!" 03/28/12
I thought the Petzl Ultra would be the best headlamp I could buy but I am not at all happy with it. I’ve purchased 3 more batteries in the 2.5 years I’ve had my Ultra and none of the batteries will last more than 40 minutes (in the 2nd position) including my newest battery. Some of the batteries just go dead in use – no warning blinks – just total dark. Try running as fast as you can on a trail and they have your headlamp go totally out on you without warning. Heaven forbid someone actually go caving with one of theseScott

"Very bright!" 12/20/10
This lamp rules the night when it comes to brightness. It has 350 lumens of power! It has an easy to adjust know that you can't fat finger. The lamp ratchets and stays in place even when upside down or running. The battery in the back balances the lamp out nicely. Think elastick straps hold this guy down to your helmet or head so it doesn't ever feel like it'll fall off. Very nice product.....5 stars!
"Great lamp!" 10/12/10
This lamp is super bright and heavy. It's not to be confused with the other "smaller" lamps. I guess there's a give and take between the two. If you're a jogger or hiker....I think you'll love this thing. It's a great combination of flood and spot. So it really light up everything in front of you. No more "dinky" little spot where you have to swivel your head just to see what's next to you. Even the low power seems kinda bright, but perfect for the campfire. Give this guy a try and you'll understand why it costs a bit more than others.
"Very bright and well worth it!" 10/12/10
I climb a ton and this light is the end all be all. Although, it's a bit heavy....it does everything and more. It's rated at 350 lumens, but feels much brighter. The controls are very easy to use and the battery is nicely balanced in the back. The straps are very easy to adjust. On low, this thing runs quite awhile. It's almost too bright to keep on "High" if you're just around the campsite. The box included a 220 adapter as well as a soft carrybag. Petzl is just pure quality and give this guy two thumbs up.
"Powerful Light, Powerful Price, Heats up a little" 05/16/10
First what are you going to use this light for, is what you need it for important enough to pay $$$? In my case "yes" I do search and rescue. My first use of this light I found myself ten miles back in the mountains. When night fell and I turned this bad boy on and my surroundings lit up great. We took two of our search injured crew out on med evac.. When you need alot of light to help keep you safe this is your headlight. Take a spare batt.! We found the lost person within 24 hrs. Thanks Moose Jaw and PETZL.
