"The Petzl Tikka Plus 2 Headlamp is pretty much a must have. I've had my Tikka Plus 2 for almost two years and still haven't had to replace the batteries. The headlamp is super useful no matter the situation - camping, power outage at home, night jogging sesh, and other activities in the dark."
Matt - Moosejaw Secret Headquarters
The Tikka Plus 2 by Petzl goes beyond the average headlamp. Going to camp? Hiking the San Andres Fault- err I mean the Pacific Crest Trail? This would be a great head lamp, wait it is a great head lamp for anyone.

"Petzl Tikka Plus 2 Headlamp should make headlines!" 03/01/12
The second I opened the package to this headlamp I put it on to test it out. It fits snug as a bug around my head and is lightweight and comfortable. I got the pistachio color and it is very cute. The lamp has several settings of the light beam which is why I ordered and, and trust me it is worth the extra bucks to have the red light! I was able to take it for a test run this evening on a jog on my favorite trail and found the light beam perfectly bright and I hardly noticed the lamp on my head as I trotted. I am very satisfied.
"Great light, easy to use." 01/27/12
I use this light as my primary base camp light and even hike and bike with it sometimes. It has ample light for a late evening descent or hike in to your campsite for the night. The red light feature is great for saving your eyes when you get out of the tent to pee but still want to be able to see that bear you hear sniffing around the tent. The light screen is great for dispersing the light and the main bright beam shines a long way in the dark. I do wish the power level indicator was on all the time and not only when it's about to die. They've fixed that in the new model though.
"A great, bright headlamp with many settings" 01/05/12
I use this headlamp to camp and to walk dogs at night in the woods...it is SO bright and the battery lasts and lasts. Love the dim and flashing settings. Love the red setting so cars can see us as well. I do a lot of camping and great headlamp is a must, and this one is the brightest I've had in a while!
"Kinda awesome..." 12/18/11
This head lamp is awesome, I use it camping, hiking, biking at school, caving and for a plethora of other odd jobs. It's really bright, light weight and comfortable to wear. It's easy to change between the three lighting modes (bight, low light, and flashing) and the red light modes. I definitely recommend the Tikka Plus 2 it's really nice, if you see it on sale, pick it up for sure, if not, look around you might find better, though I kinda doubt it.
"Excellent headlamp" 12/14/11
This is my favorite headlamp to climb with. It's not the smallest, but it shines a lot of light. I like how there are several different modes for different conditions, and like several other reviewers have said, the battery lasts a long time.
"awesome" 12/10/11
Lightweight and produces all the light you need! Great high beam- projects - well off into the distance and the low beam for reading or just conserving the batteries. Red light is nice for reading or incognito reconnaissance trekking. Water resistance held up well in some pretty nasty rains.
"nice...i think..." 11/05/11
this is my first headlamp...i bought it for running in the evening when it is dark...i have nothing to compare it to, but it fits snug around my head, the light is nice and bright, and it does not move around/jiggle in any way...it works great so far!
"nothing bad to say" 09/21/11
I have nothing bad to say about this headlamp. I will say a few good things about it tho. Its very sylish: at least I think so.Its comfy. It'll light up the forest like it's WW3.has a strobe: for backcountry shelter dance parties.Excellent build quality.Really dependable, its never gone even a little wrong for me, 500+ miles.Has all the functions, what more do you need?
"Great little head lamp" 09/21/11
Took this lamp on a white water kayaking/camping trip and worked just as expected. Really like the red lamp for those "3am get up to take a piss and don't want to wake everyone up" moments. They are also great for finding beers in the cooler around the campfire and not killing everyone's night vision.
"Great headlamp" 09/02/11
This is one well made head lamp with very easy to use features. I have taken this on two BWCA trips and love it. My fellow campers have headlamp envy. I needed to make sure I kept this close to me to make sure they didn't "borrow" it. I love the red light option. I even use it as a book light when I back at home so I don't keep my wife up when I'm reading in bed. I would definitely recommend this headlamp.
