"Great product! I'm a runner & just ran 5 miles on icy dirt roads. Handled it with no problem!"

Roads were a sheet of ice today. I would have cancelled my run because my previous product of choice, YakTraks, can't handle ice too well. I strapped on my new Petzl Spiky Plus Crampons and headed out the door. I didn't slip once wearing them. They don't feel weird walking on cement like the YakTraks do. When running on ice, they sound like popping small bubble wrap. I wear a size 9 running shoe and bought the #2 size. After 2.5 miles, the front had slid slightly to the outside of my shoe. It didn't affect performance though. I plan to write another review in 2 to 3 months to report durability.
"Staying upright is a good thing in winter and these do the job."

I love these, anything that keeps me from doing another face plant in a snow bank had got my vote. I've fallen twice on the ice and dislocated my knees 3 times, I have only 2 knees but dislocated one twice in case you were wondering about the anatomy.
"Made well-replaceable cleats put them above Yaktraks"

A bought a pair for my honey and I we live in Eastern OR where their is a lot of ice and ice fog which gets pretty slick at times and causes you to opt of for the two foot express to work rather than wreck your car. Many of the product reviews I came across recommended these over yak-traks because they say you can run in them better I haven't tried that yet. Also as far as sizing goes all I can say is my husband is a size 9 and the 2 fits his boots and I am a size 6 and the 1 fits my boots.
