"Nice but missing the mark..."  03/06/11

This is a very nice knife but I thought it was lacking in a couple of key categories. First Petzl should have thought about putting a single hand opening mechanism on this knife. This is so close to being a great climbing knife; it is light weight, fits well in your hand and the carabineer hole allows you to clip it to your gear loops with ease but when one hand is tied up (so to speak) you need to be able to flip your thumb and be done.Secondly I fear that the plastic though light would not stand up to abuse. I had to walk away…

"i like shiny things"  11/07/10

Great knife. Im usually a serrated knife kinda guy but bought this because ive always wanted this knife. Its pretty awesome, it can be a pain to try and open with one hand. Ive used it everyday since i got it and shes still got quite an edge on her.

"Good knife but make sure you have a big enough 'biner"  05/17/10

I picked this up as a multi-purpose tool that I didn't really have strong intentions of keeping on a carabiner all the time. That being said, it's a sturdy, reliable blade and I use it all the time for various things indoor and out. However, I have a smaller sized 'biner, and putting this knife on it is a bit awkward because of how wide the knife itself is. If you plan to use this knife exclusively for climbing, make sure you have a big carabiner to put it on.

"Small knife works fine but is a hassle"  07/20/09

I bought this little guy a month ago for cutting ropes while climbing. The knife is sharp and cuts through most things easily, but the hard part is getting it open. You have to use two hands and a leg to hold it against to get the blade out. Sometimes the blade slips back into the handle so watch out while cutting with this one. This knife is good but not great. Skip it if you don't want the hassle.

"Pretty Sweet"  03/20/09

Easy to open. Great to tote around on with a biner on backpacking trips. Downside: my boyfriend says it is a bad knife if I wanted to stab someone - it folds in too easily.

"Good knife"  10/29/08

Lightweight and practical knife. You can carry it with a carabiner.

"Light, sharp, not a breeze to open, good knife."  07/10/08

Out of the box, this knife was much sharper than I expected. In the past I've had to spend some time sharpening blades before I was happy with the edge they'd hold, but this one was good to go from the start. Its light as a feather and won't weigh your pocket down if you're trying to travel light. I don't think its a one hand opening knife, and it doesn't lock out, but as a pack knife, or on a lanyard around your neck, this is a quality piece of equipment that I love to use.

"If you need to saw through an appendage... get it"  02/11/08

I bought the small spatha and my happiness is relative to the price. Its a good back-up for sawing off limbs or rope in an emergency, but without a lock and the inability to open it with one hand keeps it from becomming my primary knive.

"short end of the stick? not so much"  01/22/08

i got the short blade b/c its seraded, sp??...but anyways...its sharp, hangs on bigger biners easily...small ones it gets wedged sometimes and is a booger to move. If you want one hand opening...its POSSIBLE...but not easy...go for something with a peg. no locking mechanism so dont cut your finger off....AKA i'll use it to cut webbing and rope, but i'll stick to something a lil more classy for casual use..

"Great to take up on long climbs"  12/18/07

Very sharp and light knife. You can open it with one hand if you use your leg and are mentally competent.
