The Reverso 3 Belay Device by Petzl is an ultra lightweight multi-purpose belay/rappel device. The V-shaped friction channels have asymmetrically grooved sidewalls that allow the amount of braking friction on the rope to be regulated according to its diameter, condition, flexibility and the desired maneuver.

"Great belay device for thinner ropes"  01/19/12

This is the ticket if you are on thinner (<9.7mm) ropes or double/twins. It doesn't feed well on larger ropes in autoblock mode, though, so you may not like it if you're wanting to use a 10mm, frayed rope in autoblock.

"Obviously the best out there!"  12/08/11

This thing is perfect in every way. multiple uses, light, quality, reputable brand. I have read there is a new model coming soon that will be lighter and have a larger access hole for releasing the self locking top belay use. Might not be worth the wait, just get it

"The best belay device out there"  11/15/11

This does it all. Standard belaying, auto-locking , belaying 2 at a time, and rappelling, it excels!!! Easy to use, lightweight, and looks sharp!! Get 2 in case you drop one!!!!

"Light and smooth"  09/03/11

This I bouth for a friend, One of the best belay devices I tested for multi-pitch climbing. It's lightweight, compact and great for belaying directly off the climbing harness. It is not cheap, but it is worth. Also it's smooth for rappelling.

"Awesomely versatile and useful belay device."  06/10/11

So many uses in such a small package, this little guy is amazing. It's a pleasure to use when belaying a second off of the anchors and the addition of the lever piece at the bottom is nice. You've got a lame second and he needs to be lowered? Wedge the nose of a 'biner in that bottom opening and you can torque the belay device to lower said second, nice! I highly recommend it. Made in France too! BD's ATC-Guide is made in China.

"awsome great!"  04/21/11

This is the second reverso I got. The first one (first Reverso) was a little noisy but did the job very well as this one is doing. Has a lot of features and is great for guiding. It's light and durable, as everything Petzl does! Great buy!
