The OK Screw Lock Carabiner by Petzl is a compact, lightweight, manual locking, symmetric carabiner. The easy to use Screw-Lock was designed for use with pulleys and hauling systems. The red band indicates when the 'biner is unlocked to keep you climbing confidently. This device is perfect for sport climbing or mountaineering in dirty environments where dust and dirt cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction. The pear shape facilitates use with the Munter hitch for single ropes. Try not to think about the pear shape too much, it might make you hungry.

"The Anchor's Best Friend." 12/08/11
I use this carabiner for my top-rope anchors along with the webbing as seen here:http://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Sterling-1-inch-Tubular-Military-Spec-Webbing-By-The-Foot_10087389____You can use two carabiners (locking or non), with the gates in reverse direction, for a safe redundancy.
"Good Carabeaner, Could be better" 10/29/10
This carabineer is Awesome! It is a little bit heavy. Also it needs to have an identifying mark on it so that I can distinguish it from other similar biners. A green band that shows on the other side of the gate would be awesome. The reason is that when this biner is closed it looks identical to all my others (ones without the red band) which defeat the purpose of knowing that it’s closed from a quick visual check. Not a big deal but it would be a nice improvement.

just that. this is a great rough-it haul and aid biner. a bit heavy for the job, but if your aiding...it doesnt matter. petzl superior quality. you cant be disappointed. good belay biner too.

I use this with my grigri and it is awesome. i keeps the grigri straight and reduces the risks of cross loading much more than the petzl william (still a great carabiner) that i used to use. this is probably the most solid feeling carabiner i own.
"Great Oval Biner, Alittle Heavy" 04/27/09
This is a great locking biner. It works well with the Triblocs, (I've seen other biners tear rope up) as well as with the legere pulleys. It's alittle heavy for weight conscious folks, but is worth the weight to use the legeres. I use these for Z Pulley systems during crevasse recovery, and they work flawlessly.
