Product Description Item No.   10011990

The Mini Traxion by Petzl is a compact and lightweight self-jamming pulley. The Mini Traxion is a 3-in-1 multi-purpose device (pulley, self jamming pulley, rope clamp). Self-jamming pulleys effectively replace the traditional hauling combination of a pulley and a rope clamp. Since they are simple and quick to install, they are ideal for rescue situations (in crevasse or climbing rescue).

FEATURES of the Petzl Mini Traxion Pulley

  • Efficient and compact: Aluminum sheave mounted on self-lubricating bushings
  • Trigger cam with teeth and cleaning slot works even on dirty or icy ropes
  • Cam can be locked in open position so device can be used as a simple pulley
  • Can be used to ascend a rope
  • For use on ropes between 8 and 13 mm in diameter

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Self-Belay I use this in a setup to self-belay outdoors. According to most it's a terrible idea, but I'm still alive to tell the tale - for now anyway. For that configuration it's pretty simple to construct and cuts out having to drag another climber along and lends some convenience to the whole experience. As a caveat - the device uses teeth which can and will damage the rope. If I lost it, a replacement would be in the mail shortly thereafter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Self belay partner! I use this mostly for top rope soloing and it works great. If feeds relatively well and seems strong. I've taken some big falls with it and no damage to the rope or device. It catches well on the rope and I feel confident using just one without a backup for most climbs. This or a basic ascender are probably the best options for rope soloing on a fixed line. Can't wait to use it for some light hauling and as a lightweight ascender.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for solo climbing. Bought this so I could start solo climbing with top rope anchors. Does exactly what I want it to. Works similar to a grigri, if you pull in the wrong direction it locks out the rope, can also be used as a pulley, which I will probably never use it for. If the teeth used for locking out the rope end up causing damage to the rope in an unreasonable time frame, I'll be sure to update this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sexy Have been using this pully a bit and it works great so far. The brake is easy to use and its easy to open etc. It also looks pretty cool. My climbing partner got a std BD model and its not nearly as sexy. Friction seems pretty good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for Top Rop Self-Belay After using a couple of different methods for top-rope self-belay, I settled on using the mini-traxion. Works great. I use two in tandem and backed up seperately, so I feel really secure. Weight the rope at the bottom and no worries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from must have for aid and rope solo perfect as a backup for jugging fixed lines. better than a grigri cause you can put it on, or escape from, a weighted rope. also is the best pulley block for hauling. super light. bottom line, if you aid climb you need this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not cheap, but a great pulley This pulley has been really cool. It pulls really smooth. And it can also hold a ton of weight. It's also pretty lightweight itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well engineered device It may cost a pretty penny, but well worth it. Great for every day needs when on the mountainlike pullin your buddy up to the top.
