"Don't judge comfort by the lack of padding!" 02/20/12
For how thin and light the Hirundos is, the comfort level is astounding! Whether or not you are working your project or belaying a friend while they are on their project you will be comfortable in your harness. You also will get into your harness more quickly than your friends to belay the hotties since you just have to slip on and cinch down your waist.
"Love This" 08/20/11
I love this harness. For a sport climber, it's perfect. I usually can't find harnesses that cinch down enough the waist, but this one is designed for the typical sport climber, in terms of build and needs. It's not comfortable for projecting/hanging--your legs will definitely go numb. But it's so light it feels like you're wearing nothing.
"Awesome Harness for sure!!" 05/28/11
So far I can only compare this harness to the BD momentum and Petzl Corax harnesses, but let me tell you, this harness is much much better in my opinion. ultra comfortable and does not make your legs go numb no matter how long you are hanging in it
"It's what people say" 12/31/10
It is incredibly light. You wear it and it seems you are not even using a harness. Just got them and ran to the gym for some indoor climbing, and yes, they fit very well, but I would rather prefer a little bit more of weight on my harness, and I agree with the friend Donny. I also have a Sama, and I think their extra weight fits even better than the Hirundos. But anyway, this is a solid harness, and I like the legs with no buckle.
"Nice harness, but get the Sama instead" 12/11/10
I liked this harness enough to buy it twice, though I exchanged the second one for a Sama after finding some stitching problems on it (great customer service from Petzl, by the way). There is nothing wrong with the Hirundos, but the extra weight of the Sama is unnoticed when climbing, greatly appreciated as a climber, and especially nice when belaying your partner as he/she hangdogs some route for 45 minutes. Don't buy into the hype of a super light harness if you are a sport climber.
"Light is right" 10/30/10
This is the first non-adjustable leg loop harness I've owned in a LONG time, maybe ever but it's been so long I can't remember.I had always believe adjustable leg loops were a must for alpine and expedition climbing, but boy was I wrong. Definitely NOT for all day hanging or shameless hangdogs, but surprisingly comfortable, especially for its weight and bulk. Really compact and light, not the lightest, but for the $$ one of the best, so great for long hauls in the pack. Was also skeptical of the cord gear loops, but they are really easy to use and bomber (no worries about breaking them from a snag or the cold). Love my gecko green color!
"Great harness, but..." 03/15/10
Petzl's produces unbelievable products..ascenders, carabiner (considered the best), headlamps (also considered the best), helmets, and harnesses. Their comfort and materials are terrific, HOWEVER, if you climb more than 3 times a week and take a lot of falls (you're not trying hard enough if you're not falling) you'll notice that their tie-in points don't really last very long. check out the tie-in points of BD, Wild Country, C.A.M.P., or Arc Teryx and you'll notice the beefy tie-in points that lasts A LOT longer than Petzl's tie-in points. They still make great harness though, but i can't afford to buy a new harness every 1-2 years.
"Great Product, Would recommend to anyone for a great harness at a fair price." 02/25/10
I have had this harness for close to a year now and i would recommend this to anyone if they were a fairly regular climber obviously you could find a cheaper one, but it would not be as quality. I have had no problems with this harness. I also really love it because it is so lightweight u feel almost like u are not even wearing it.
"light and comfortable" 01/14/10
now this is a really light harness that changes the comfort on the long days at the crag. It doesn't have leg adjustments, but I never used mines on the previous harnesses anyway. The loops are textile, but hardened (not the full plastic that hurts when you sit on it between routes), and they're perfect for quickdraw access.
"Good harness, bad quality" 10/13/09
I had this harness when it was green (much cooler), and the protective webbing that connects the leg loops (where the rope goes) wore out, but petzl fixed it for free so it was all good! happened again though so ill need to send it off again. other than that its an awesome harness
