Petzl MYO RXP Headlamp Item No. 10085413

The MYO RXP Headlamp by Petzl is the first Petal headlamp that is regulated and programmable, allowing the user to choose the order of lighting levels and to precisely adapt light output. To do this, there are three lighting modes, for each of which the user can select the power from among ten possible levels, from 8 to 140 lumens. This feature allows the lamp to be programmed for the type of activity and the length of use. Maximum power lighting would be suited for a short night run, for example; less powerful lighting would help preserve battery life and would therefore be ideal for a multi-day trek. This headlamp has Boost mode (160 lumens) and a flashing mode that can be programmed. It is compatible with lithium batteries to optimize performance, even at low temperatures. The Wide Angle lens offers the option of switching instantly from a focused beam to a wide beam when necessary.

"Progarming feature could be a bit confusing at first, overall Very Nice Headlights No regrets yet" 06/23/11
The headlamp is nicely made and batteries last a long time, the diffuser is great, I could go on for a long time with these compliments.Programing feature is a bit confusing at first but allows one to fine tune the headlights bests to his/her preference. Only two minor issues. First, the on/off button is small and pointy, it takes some time to get used to it. Also, the tilt feature is a bit too rough. Overall, great headlights.
"A quality light that is great for many activities." 06/10/11
This light finds itself in my pack year round for all sorts of outdoors activities. From early morning starts to running at night, it works great for just about anything. The headlamp uses AA batteries which are available just about anywhere so you don't have to worry about chargers. It's also made in France and carries a 3 year warranty, that's tough to beat. People are often impressed with the brightness and range this headlamp puts out even after the batteries have been used for many hours. The flip up/down diffuser is a big bonus and the boost button is a great feature. Get this if you're in the market for a quality headlamp that's great for lighting pretty much any activity.
"Great light for trail running, great spread and battery life" 03/26/11
This light is great for trail running, which was the primary reason I got it. I use the flood light with the diffuser almost all the time. The boost mode isn't really that functional, but you don't need it anyway. I run with 6/10 brightness, and it certainly seems to live up to it's advertised 50something hours of run time. Plus, the power supply is regulated up to level 8, which means there is not a slow taper on the brightness as the batteries wear down.Perhaps best of all, it runs on AA batteries, making replacement much easier/cheaper than other options.
"Can you see me now?" 03/11/11
A little heavier than most headlamps, but I like the fact that it uses AA batteries. Now I don't have to carry 2 type of batteries with me on the hill. Plus, it's so bright you can almost get a tan from the thing...
"Cue Instant Sun!" 02/26/11
While burn time at full power is a little short, at about 6 hours until the beam dips below 60 meters, this is a high quality headlamp. Everything is well constructed, and the regulator is high quality, with no flicker. The diffuser puts out high quality task light, and the self-programmable lighting levels are very convenient.
"I love night hiking" 02/09/11
admittedly I was a little nervous about solo night hiking - first time out with this lamp and that all changed. Now finding myself getting to the trail head hours before sun up so I can make my way to the peak for sunrise. As long as you keep it off the brightest setting the batteries will last you forever.
"One sick bright mofo." 08/31/10
I got this light 2 weeks ago even though i havent got to go caving with it yet which is why i bought it i love the light. The different settings and i have already programmed the brightness levels i like. I had a concern that it might be heavy since it had the battery pack on the back but i forget its even there after a few minutes. It lights up the trail amazingly. Couldnt be happier with my ne Petzl. I now have three and will continue to only buy petzl lamps...
