"Well made...but doesn't compare to BD" 09/12/11

All in all this is a well made, solid screw. The rotating hanger is a nice touch and adds some versatility. The only real strike against this screw is that once you use a black diamond turbo express screw this thing pales in comparison. The BD screw is much much easier to place. The laser sonic screws in my rack have now been relegated to belay station duty.

"Great Screws" 11/24/09

This screw, like any other, will bite and screw in very nicely if you keep it sharp.What sets the Laser Sonic apart from other screws are the additional features.The pivoting clip in point, which serves the dual purposes of allowing you to crank the screw in easily (even with gloves), and also allowing you to remove the screw while leaving it clipped in. This is huge. If you or your second has a tendency to drop screws, or you're new to ice, this can be a lifesaver.Ice Flute. These are AWESOME. They keep your screws from cutting up your gear, and help with organization. They can be attached to one another to form a cool little ice screw utility belt. Like Batman.HIGHLY recommended.

"Very useful stuff ...and little bit more!" 09/23/08

Skilful considered stuff, useful (thanks to revolving clevis), shaped (but not like BD :) ), drive in where they will (glacier snow/solid ice). And how desired fast! Thanks for conical inner surface, core do not stay in screw, and easy to shake it out.

"Great product" 03/30/08

This ice screw is a little more expensive than its coutnerparts, but its a lot better in quality. It also comes with a high quality holster/holder that easily attaches to any climbing rig.
