The Huit Descender by Petzl is a figure-eight descender for descending on single or double ropes. This Descender was designed with a square shape to reduce twisting of the ropes and the formation of a lark’s head knot with forged aluminum for all the strength you need. An anti-burn grip was designed for holding the device when it gets hot on those super long descents.

"Great Friction!"  07/27/09

It makes it easy to rappel no matter what the situation is! ive used it on all sized ropes down to my 8.5 mm that i take for glacial travel and it always makes you feel secure dropping off a cliff or dropping in a crevasse to help out your hurt buddy!

Best figure 8 descender available. Although you may be tempted to purchase a less expensive one with a slightly different shape, this is the way to go. I have found that it is best to have a more square shaped figure eight so when using different rappel methods your rope does not slide around easy and snag you up. Also great for creating easy blocks if you have an extra one.
