The Creme De La CremeBy far the hardest working caving harness on the market. The low attachment point means that you've got maximum grab on each step up when climbing ropes with a Petzl Croll. This doesn't sound like much for a 10m pitch, but after a 100m you're going to be glad you're not losing 5cm each time. With the buckles on the inside of the leg you're golden on tight squeezes and can wiggle without worrying about snagging your harness. The only thing to think of is backing up the gear loop, mine wear out after a season or two, and if you drop your gear in the cave you're done for. Other than that, this is the best caving harness I've ever tried on.

Best for Caving!!!Low attachment point gives you the most rang of movement. The is very comfortable for a non-padded harness. It packs well into most traditional cave packs and isn't very heavy. I've been using this harness for 3 years, and when I replace it I plan on getting a new fractio. Trust Petzl for caving gear.

This is a great harnessI purchased this cause of the 1 pound weight and low mass. Also, I got 20% discount. I have one of those very comfortable seat harnesses which weighs about 2.5 pounds and is close to 3s the mass. That means it is both heavy and takes up a lot of space in the pack.,,,,I prefer my heavy harness for comfort and long climbs. I do not think rappelling makes any difference. Since I am 69, any climb of 100 feet or more is long for me and comfort is important. But when there is a lot of caving between drops, I prefer this one.,,,,This harness has 2 waist straps, a large red one which is the same as any other minimal harness and a 1 inch webbing black one which I figure is designed to fit to your lumbar region and give you greater back support and be a 1 up from a minimal harness. You must tediously tune the harness following the Petzyl instructions for the belt adjusting.,,,,WARNING. I had to take off waist straps and reassemble to be correct.
