"Satisfied Buyer!" 04/11/12
This kit had my first everything! I was looking for a decent first time harness and decided to get the kit because it was cheaper and I needed all the stuff anyway. It's been over a couple of months since I've purchased it and I even told my friend to get the same kind!The harness itself is slightly heavier than the previous loaned harness I was using but this one is faster to get on and off without wasting time and the fit was better. Chalk bag is a chalk bag. The atc belay device is super light and has an interesting design! I would definitely recommend this kit for a first buy.

I decided to spend the extra money when buying a harness to get the Petzl and not a Black Diamond. I bought this harness at REI and this seemed to be the most comfortable one there. Man was I right, this harness is sooo comfortable! My partner has a Mammut harness and complains about how it is uncomfortable at times. I never have that problem. I have climbed all day in this harness and sometimes forgot I even had it on. I did not buy the package, I just bought the harness. But I will say that I dont think this package deal is much of one. My harness was $65 new and I can purchase the rest of these items with the harness for less that $125.

Great Kit! Bottom line is that the Petzl Corax harness, the heart of the setup, is a stellar harness for gym climbing. Best part is the dual adjustment points for the belay loop. Allowing you to center it up in relation to the harness and your body is totally sweet. Combined with the fact that the legs are adjustable as well, means you can get this to fit on you better than other entry level harnesses. I got a size 2 partially on accident, but it does fit snugly, when ratcheted down completely. I am 6', 165lbs, size 30 waist.Rest of the gear is top shelf. Not sure how I feel about the connection of the ATC to the carabiner, as far as for gym climbing. But hey, it's cool.
