The Petzl Calidris Climbing Harness is a comfortable harness for big wall climbing and equipping routes. The wide waist belt and leg loops stand out when the harness first comes into view, while on the inside FRAME construction features webbing that helps spread out your weight over the large surface area. Perforated foam padding along with breathable mesh vent and cushion as you work hard at the mass amount of rock above. Two double back buckles at the waist and one at each leg loop make adjustments quick and simple, regardless of whether you're sporting shorts on a hot summer day or layered up for a cold weather climb. Plenty of gear loops and CARITOOL tool holder slots give you space to rack your gear just the way you like it.

This is one of the best harnesses you can buy.I absolutely love this harness. I have been using a Calidris harness for ten years now. I had to replace it once, not because it was worn out, but because according to standards you are supposed to retire harnesses, rope, and basically anything fabric after five years of use. I am a cope and climbing instructor and this harness is safe and comfortable. I use it to rig our towers as well as sit in it suspended off the side of one of the platforms to hook participants up to the zip line. This harness has to be the most comfortable harness I have been in and when my five years is up with my current harness I will be buying another one exactly like it.

Not a great harness for me.This Harness was not worth the purchase for me. I think you're better off buying either a full on Wall harness that's going to be more comfortable, more durable and have more loops for gear - Or a much lighter and more affordable free climbing harness. I found that this harness isn't ideal for either of the activities. My gear loop on the left side broke very unexpectedly within two years of purchasing it resulting in me losing a few hundred dollars worth of gear while.on a wall in Yosemite.

Can't recommened this for extended sitting. It pains me to write this review, I realy like petzl products and they have the best reputation and catalogue! But I've been using this climbing constantly for ten days and this isn't all I had hoped. My comments 1 - the padding on the leg loops doesn't come around far enough to the front. Its fine for normal climbing etc, but on aid or any extended sitting or load and it digs into my legs. 2 - there isnt a lot of adjustability in the leg loops for thicker clothing etc. 3 - The gear loops are a bit far back. The buckles are great and the other features are fine.

ComfortableThis harness is by far the best harness I've ever owned. I got this when I worked at a summer camp belaying teens all day. I figured the padding would work out great for spending 10 hours in it and it exceeded my expectations on all levels. I've used it for several years now for everything from ropes courses to sport climbing and it has never failed me in any way. I'm a bit rougher on my gear than most too and the harness looks as new as the day I bought it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Petzl did a great job as always in building this harness.

adjustable, comfy, but heavyAfter 15 years, I finally outgrew my trad harness. After much research, I choose this harness. As a route setter at an indoor wall, I knew I wanted wide legs with padding. Even after over an hour of hanging this harness is still comfortable. Plenty of room for gear. With the two parachute buckles on the waistband, it is very easy to share this harness with others and always keep the belay loop centered. Huge adjustability, this one should last me the rest of my life.

If it fit me right it would be awesome.Make sure you get the right size. I got size two. I am a 32 waist and the straps are just to the end, just barely enough to secure me in. Sadly after talking to customer support I cannot exchange for a size 1, which would be a lot safer for me. Remember all climbing sales are final. The Policy Stinks in my opinion. I think I can make it work, maybe I'll gain some weight. :(

Great harness!!!!After using/comparing many many different harness designs I can confidently say that this is one of the best all-around harnesses I've ever tried. I always go for harnesses with double waist buckles (easier to keep the belay loop centered) and leg buckles as opposed to the popular elastic on the top-leg. Gear loops are solid as well.
