"beautiful and awesome carabiner" 03/09/13
I always love those classic design of Petzl, so when I need a belay carabiner, no need to think twice. This one provide very smooth/percise screw action, the red lock indicator also very useful for a climb beginner like me.
"Great caribiner" 01/25/13
Bought this on a whim and don't regret it at all. It is very smooth and I really like the red coloring when it is unlocked. Something else to remind me to make sure it is locked before a climb. Great caribiner for a decent price.
"Fantastic Belay Biner" 01/23/13
This is a great pear-shaped carabiner that is perfect for belaying. It's probably too big to be a primary biner for anything else, but it's great at what it does. It is lightweight, the locking mechanism is solid, and it has a nice red warning stripe so that you can see if it is locked or not.
"Great carabiner" 11/07/12
Just got back from four days of climbing with this in red rock nevada. I've been using this as a belay carabiner in combination with my ATC and its a match made it heaven. Rope runs smoothly over the rounded edges and its got a nice sturdy feel. I've purchased three more since returning from my trip to use with another ATC and for my top rop anchors.
"Can get your rope dirty." 11/06/12
The Petzl carabiner is really cool, and feels easy to handle. But the only thing is that when you use it to rappel, the color cames off really easy and sometimes your rope gets dirty. But besides that the Petzl Attache is just great.
"Its expensive, but worth it" 10/04/12
There is a good reason why the Attache is probably the most often picked belay and anchor biner by guides. Its light, very, very smooth, and has a good ol' reliable screwgate. The shorter length and nice wide radius make this an ideal locker for multipitch belays, especially when using an autoblock type device (ie reverso, bd guide, etc).Im a big fan. Get one for multipitch belays, one for master point anchors, and use for top ropes too.
"A great product" 10/01/12
I bought a few of theses because I didn't think they were popular. Low and behold, everyone had 1 or 2. I liked the fact that I could feel them in my hand, I didn't have to look down or look at it. It fit my hand great and it is easy to hook in with. A great feature is the red line to let you know that it is not locked. If you see red, spin the lock to secure. I did notice that after a little use, in belay or when running a rope through it, the color will wear away and you see the silver color. I thought this was a problem at first but it is not harmful in any way.
"Petzl as usual, best on the market" 09/28/12
These are the best screw-lock belay carabiners out there. Great action on the gate and the screw-lock, also nice to have a bit of red paint on the gate so that you can easily identify that the gate is locked/unlocked. Compact and smooth.
"Best Belay Carabiner" 06/19/12
If you're looking for a belay 'biner, buy this one. When I bought an ATC guide, I was annoyed with it. It locked up really easily, making it difficult to pay out slack. A friend suggested that I try his attache instead of my giant steel belay 'biner. Totally different belay! A little small for double-rope rappels or anchors, but it's the best belay carabiner on the market. The color Moosejaw sent me is pretty different from the picture (blue hera climb4life), but who cares?
"Good locking carabiner" 04/02/12
Good for belaying, setting anchors, and pretty much anything else you want to use it for. Screwgate is smooth and positive, and the contour of the carabiner itself lends to smooth rope feed. Get a few. You'll be thankful you did!
"Petzl - it's reliability!" 03/02/12
All my friends use the Petzl Attache screw-lock carabiner. This is a very strong carabiner. UIAA certified and light weight. We use them in the mountain hikes, to set the river crossing and rock climbing. I recommend! Petzl - it's reliability! (forgive me for my english)
