The Attache Screw-Lock Carabiner by Petzl is compact, lightweight and easy to handle making this the perfect device for multi-pitch climbing and mountaineering. This climbing carabiner was designed for easy use when belaying with a manual lock to make climbing more enjoyable. The pear shape facilitates use with the Munter hitch for single ropes. The innovative Keylock design is recommended for dirty environments where dust and dirt could cause an automatic locking mechanism to malfunction. "Good locking carabiner" 04/02/12
Good for belaying, setting anchors, and pretty much anything else you want to use it for. Screwgate is smooth and positive, and the contour of the carabiner itself lends to smooth rope feed. Get a few. You'll be thankful you did!
"Petzl - it's reliability!" 03/02/12
All my friends use the Petzl Attache screw-lock carabiner. This is a very strong carabiner. UIAA certified and light weight. We use them in the mountain hikes, to set the river crossing and rock climbing. I recommend! Petzl - it's reliability! (forgive me for my english)
"Great carabiner for belay" 02/05/12
The Petzl Attache is a great carabiner all around. It is not as light as the Attache 3d but has all the features you would expect from Petzl. I use the Attache as a locking biner for guide belay because it works a little bit better then the 3d based on its completely smooth circumference. The locking mechanism remains smooth even after rough use and i have never had an issue releasing it. Overall a great biner but there are lighter ones.
"Smooth and solid but not the lightest" 01/05/12
These are super solid biners, great for top rope setups (an opposite-facing pair...don't be lazy, be redundant). They are also some of the best biners for smooth belaying. I own two of these and several of the 3D model. The 3D weighs 30g less and still runs smooth. 3Ds are my main locking biner for trad along with the Mad Rock Ultratech Screwgates (which are cheaper but not as versatile). You can't go wrong with the Attache, but you can go lighter. For the price they're 5 stars.

I have used this for belaying, rappelling, building anchors, and everything in between. It is great for everything. The size is good without being too bulky and the key lock nose is super smooth. the red band on the gate is also a good visual reminder as to whether or not the gate is actually locked. The locking part of the gate is nice and big so it should be easy to use with gloves on or for those that just want a carabiner easy to use. The round body is also nice since rope feeds over it smoothly. For the price, it really can't be beat!

I swear by petzl products. put a box of their biners in front of me and you know you will get the truth. this is an amazing product, the gate action is butter smooth after three years, the screw lock too. as for wear i belay with this biner on my verso and i have replaced more belay devices than this biner. its great get one or 6 you would regret it.

I love my Petzl Attache. It is my go-to for canyoneering, climbing, everything. It is a solid, smooth, and dependable piece of gear. Its a great size, handles the rope perfectly, and gives me 100% trust when I'm in a dicey or scary situation when rapelling off anything. I love the red safety band, it locks shut smoothly and quickly and I would recommend these to anyone. I always feel completely secure when using these and cannot praise them enough.
