The Petzl Accu Core Battery is a Lithium Ion Polymer rechargeable battery for the TIKKA2 - ZIPKA2 line of Petzl headlamps. The CORE battery offers an advantage over regular batteries. It is very easy to insert and can be charged via any standard USB charger: a cell phone charger, a multimedia device, cigar lighter charger, or even a solar panel, a portable energy source, a computer, etc. The Core provides excellent performance at low temperatures, thanks to Lithium Ion Polymer technology and with the OS by Petzl software, the user can customize headlamp performance in a number of ways: for example, to adapt the lighting intensity or battery life to the type of activity.

"great product" 04/27/12
this is a great product i have owned mine for a year or more. I like that you can change the output and it tells you how long the burn time is i also like that you can have it be at full power all the way until it is dead. I love this head lamp battery it is nice when you find some thing that works as good as this and then you don't have to look any more.
"SAVE THE EARTH with this Battery" 03/16/11
No more having to buy those tiny AAA batteries. Just pop this sucker in and away you go. What's nice about this thing is that you can program how many lumens the low and high intensity settings put out. The low default setting was a little too bright for me, so I set it to as a low possible and now it's just right. The program will also tell you how long the battery will last at high bright you set it. This thing is well worth the money.
"Way better than AAAs" 03/12/11
I use the Core with my zipka plus way better than using disposable batteries. The petzel os software is pretty cool it lets you switch to a regulated output so the lamp doesn't dim over the corse of the night. It charges pretty fast too I already have usb plugs for pretty much every situation so I am never far from being able to charge.
