The Patagonia Women’s Down Sweater is actually not a sweater at all. It’s actually a super warm insulated jacket. Those crazy Patagonia Outerwear folks must be losing their minds. At least they are good at making premium 800-fill-power goose down insulated women’s jackets. I wonder if calling it a down sweater when its actually a Superlight, windproof and water-resistant shell is false advertising? Someone should call Patagonia out. It could be a showdown. There could be gunslingers involved. No real guns though, just water pistols.
Super Important Note - Some of the Patagonia Down Sweaters for Fall 2011 are made with non-recycled fabric. If you receive a non-recycled version of a Down Sweater, the fabric color may vary slightly from the images seen here. Sorry about all of it, and please don't hate us.

"Great product, but a bit short for tall ladies" 05/11/13
I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a down sweater while it was on sale. I love patagonia's products and this is no exception, but it's a bit short on my tall frame. I'm tall (5'10'') and thin with a long torso and ordered the small. It runs big (I usually wear either S or M in patagonia products) and there is plenty of room for layering. The sleeves are long enough but I could have used another inch or two of length on the body of the jacket. It still looks ok and fits great under my rain jacket, so I'm going to keep it, but beware if you are tall but wear a smaller size.
"Great coat" 04/02/13
I ordered this coat to suit both everyday wear in the Michigan winters and any other adventuring I might encounter. So far it has done a great job of keeping the cold out. I was skeptical of the shape when I first got it. The sleeves seemed to be extra puffy around the upper arms but I discovered that this was only temporary and the imbalance went away with a couple wears. I think it fits true to size. I got a medium so i could wear sweaters under it. I usually wear a medium in tops. I am very happy with my purchase.
"Would highly recommend" 03/17/13
Bought as an xmas gift and she loves it! Highly compressible, lightweight, looks great, comfortable to wear. The jacket is also very durable and the dwr coating also works a lot better than I would have expected.May be a little expensive, but it is extremely versatile. Can be used as a midlayer in winter, an outer layer in fall and spring. Great for hiking rest stops or when cycling downhill as it blocks wind very well. The size guide was very accurate.
"Cute but down shows thru shell -- not so cute!" 01/16/13
I absolutely love this jacket and the large fits me well...I am 5'5" and about 145 lbs. It isn't tight, as the medium was on me -- I tried one on in another store. It has enough room to wear another sweater or layer underneath totally comfortably. BUT, the Birch White color has a big problem...you can see the down through the shell fabric which gives it this funny mottled appearance. So unfortunately, I'm going to have to return it. I even went to a local store to check out another one and it too had the same issue, so i think it's just that the white shell is too light and too thin to block out the down underneath.
"This is a must buy!!!" 01/15/13
I can't spill over with enough emotion that tells you how much I LOVE my Patagonia Woman's Down Jacket!! It is light weight ~ warm and cozy ~ Stylish and best of all I can pack it in my carry on bag when I head off to ski in Utah!!Don't hesitate to buy yourself one of these AWESOME jackets! Thank-you Patagonia!!!
"So comfy and warm!!" 12/15/12
I noticed this jacket was selling out in stores and on websites, and I now see why. This jacket is so light to carry around, it is warm, and it is SO cute! It is so cute that as I was crossing the street the other day, a guy stopped his car in the middle of the crosswalk to yell after me, "Nice jacket!" As I passed through a cashier in a cafe she said to me, "That is a gorgeous jacket. Gorgeous!" Patagonia designed this really well because it is very warm (800 fill) and not so puffy that it makes you look funny.
"another Patagonia hit" 12/14/12
I am a bias Patagonia lover, and have this in black, size small. I am 5'4'' 115lb. This jacket is super light weight and stuffs down to a compact size. It works well as a layer or an outer jacket. in stores I have seen the feathers showing through in lighter colors, I always tend to go with black. I would also be careful if skiing in trees with this jacket as an outer layer, it is soft and I can imagine it would tear. Otherwise it is everything I would expect. Comfy, warm, and cute.
"Great for layering, but not durable enough." 11/21/12
I really, really hate being cold. I have let many a cold day keep me from a trip to the crag or a day on the slopes. I wanted a down jacket to help change that. When I got this jacket, I was pretty thrilled with my choice of color (the bright blue), and initially thrilled by the overall look and feel. It is certainly a warm jacket, especially for the size. However, the fabric of this jacket is incredibly fragile--I got a snag in the jacket almost immediately. If you are someone who likes to beat up your clothing, I would suggest staying away from this jacket. I plan to use mine as a warm layer for backpacking trips, but I bought something more durable for climbing days.
"Amazballs!" 11/08/12
Love this product! It is so warm and extremely light weight, well worth every cent. I use it as an everyday jacket and for skiing and there is enough room for layering and putting a shell on top. I would sleep in it if my husband would let me!!! You won't be let down with this jacket!
"On my short "Best Thing Ever" list" 09/02/12
I recently purchased the down sweater and have been dying to have an excuse to wear it. The hubs and I just got back from a trip to Switzerland and I was thrilled to pack this jacket for the trip. It's light, so packing it won't put you over the luggage weight restrictions, and it packs TINY so you won't be taking up precious space in your suitcase! These two things were important to me since most of our trip time was in 80 degree weather. It was the perfect item for our hiking time on Glacier 3000 though! I busted that thing out as we got off the last gondola to the top and kept it on 'til we got back on for our decent! It wasn't that cold, (50's) but it kept me just the right temp.
