The Patagonia Women’s Down Sweater is actually not a sweater at all. It’s actually a super warm insulated jacket. Those crazy Patagonia Outerwear folks must be losing their minds. At least they are good at making premium 800-fill-power goose down insulated women’s jackets. I wonder if calling it a down sweater when its actually a Superlight, windproof and water-resistant shell is false advertising? Someone should call Patagonia out. It could be a showdown. There could be gunslingers involved. No real guns though, just water pistols.
Supes Important Note - Some of the Patagonia Down Sweaters for Fall 2011 are made with non-recycled fabric. If you receive a non-recycled version of a Down Sweater, the fabric color may vary slightly from the images seen here. Sorry about all of it, and please don't hate us.

"Not Warm Enough" 05/15/12
I still really like this jacket and I'm glad I bought it. I wore it every day in the winter (Denver, Colorado) and on the days below 40, I had to wear a fleece along with a couple long t-shirts for this to stay warm. Even with all those layers, I would be shivering on the below 30 days. I see myself using this in the spring and fall, but not for middle of winter cold. I really like that it folds into it's own pocket, it makes it great for travelling and is really handy to throw inside my purse if I think temperatures might drop. I started with the small, but found it too baggy, so returned for the X-small. I'm 5'5", 110 lbs - the X-small still has plenty of room for extra layers.

"My wife loves this!" 02/06/12
I bought this as a gift for my wife. It looks nice, feels nice, keeps her warm, and isn't super bulky. It has a relaxed yet slimming fit. It can be worn inside and out. We even bought one for my daughter since we like it so much!

I train hunter/jumper horses all year round in Michigan, which means it can get pretty darn cold. Riding is sometimes very active and sometimes very quiet. I bought a size larger so I could put a vest underneath. You don't feel the sweater, it does not hinder your arm movement over jumps in any way, and you do not feel the like pillsberry dough boy when you are layered. The arms are nice and long. The back is cut a little longer, so that when you fold over a jump, or bend over to bandage a leg, you don't get air flow up your spine.. The temps this week varied between 14 and 38 degrees.

I LOVE this jacket. I just returned from Lake Tahoe where the temps ranged from mid-40s to single digits and this jacket was great (base layers and a shell for high winds and very low temps). I used this jacket as my insulation under a wind & water proof shell and over a Patagonia Capilene when I hit the slopes- perfection! When worn as an outer layer I recieved MANY compliments on fit and color. The sizing is a little on the larger side. I am typically a small, but went to a X-Small because I didn't want a lot of bulk and planned on wearing a thin layer underneath. If you plan on wearing sweaters or anything bulky underneath, I'd recommend sticking to your normal size.
". . so lightweight you can't even feel it's on!" 01/15/12
. . I bought the MANGO color. You won't be missed! Bright and vivacious. Looks great with a brown under layer of some sort. Great colors for the FALL. Sleeves are definitely wide enough for layering. Very cozy, and WARM WARM WARM. I also have the North Face version as well. This one is just as WARM. Not bulky at all. Just right. Sleeves are the perfect length. I'm 5'5 and 120 lbs, and the SMALL is JUST perfect and flattering. MoooooooooseJaw has the best prices and the best customer service. Easy transactions every time. Leaves you to want to come back again!
"Great jacket!!!!!!" 12/26/11
I ordered this "Sweater" (Its more like a light jacket) for my wife and she loves it. It is very soft, very light and filled with the best quality down. However they tend to run a little larger than normal. My wife always wears a medium and this medium was a little too big so we had to exchange it. When we exchanged it my wife ordered one with a hood. With or without the hood this jacket is a GREAT PURCHASE!!!!!
"Light as a marshmellow and toasty warm" 12/17/11
I like comfort and this is the best. So light and yet so warm. Patagonia is my favorite and I have the R-4 if it gets really, really cold. Otherwise I love wearing this. It's pretty water repellent too.
