Three reasons why I love this jacket: (1) it is beautifully made. The people who designed this jacket obviously wanted to make it functional AND stylish. I can easily wear this jacket on the slopes (boarding in WY and CO) and in the city (freezing, humid, cold ... welcome to Chi-town). (2) The length is perfect. In my mind there is nothing worse than a short jacket (you know the kind when you are riding your bike and your lower back is slowly getting frost bite), or a long jacket (you look like you are drowning in a coat and you can't take a full stride). But this coat's length is perfect, and covers your butt slightly to prevent the snow from invading your pants. (3) The slim fit is so comfortable. The jacket has room for my boobs, and doesn't funnel out around my waist! (SUM) I can wear it anywhere, for anything, and it looks great!
I love this jacket, it is very warm & cozy in the winter, keeps the wind out and keeps you dry. I think the collar of the down part looks a little odd because it sticks up separately but doesn't bother me too much. Both pieces are nice by themselves. I wore this home over vacation & my mother tried to steal it from me so I might have to get one for her as well. I ordered a MD, ~130 lbs, 5'6" and it was not too loose or too fitted.
I got this jacket not long ago, but absolutely love it! I am a city girl that loves hiking so my jackets have to serve me both places. It looks very nice in town, keeps me nice and dry and is cosy warm. In the mountains it is an essential part of my gear, that I don't live home without. I love that down-insulated jacket that I use on warmer days by itself. It lays very nice on the body, and is not bulky even though it is 600-fill goose down. I must say that I dislike the outer shells and avoid wearing them by themselves, but this one actually surprised me. It is not so plasticky like some of the other shells and surprisingly comfortable.
