The Patagonia Women's Torrentshell Jacket is a waterproof jacket for any time there is moisture in the air. Headed to work? Grab the Torrentshell. Going for a hike? If you're not wearing it, stuff it into its own pocket and clip it to your beltloop or toss it into your backpack. At 10.6 ounces, it's pointless to leave it at home when it could save you from getting soaked in an unexpected rain. The 2.5 layer waterproof/breathable H2No® Performance Standard fabric features a 100% recycled nylon face to take on rain, sleet, even snow. Just be sure to layer up underneath if you're in colder weather. When in hotter weather, open up the pit zips to release excess heat while the front zip stays shut to keep you dry.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Patagonia H2No Performance Standard
H2No Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof and breathable. They are put through rigorous tests to achieve the H2No status, so you can rest assured that they'll keep you dry and comfortable in the backcountry.

Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I recently purchased this for my trip to Olympic NP in mid-October. I knew that I was going to do a lot of hiking in the rain so wanted something fairly waterproof. The coat was great at repelling water but I also got super warm despite it being ~45F out. As a result, the inside of the jacket was actually quite wet from condensation from my sweaty body, I presume, even though the armpit vents were wide open. So, I'm not quite sure if I suck at layering or I'm really sweaty or this jacket is slightly less than perfect or some combo of the above. The outside dried really quickly when I took it off but the inside took a fair bit longer. For sizing purposes, I'm normally a medium in jackets/shirts everywhere (5'10", 160lbs, athletic-ish build). Length was great but the sleeves were actually too long and I had plenty of room in the chest (roomy even when I layered a nano-puff jacket underneath at one point). I probably could have gone with the small but alas, I wore it already and can't exchange at this point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and Durable I bought this jacket a couple months ago and finally had the chance to put it to use last week when it rained. I held up very well to the rain, but it got a little warm, as it was an 80-degree day. I bought it in pink and could not be more happy about the color. I am 5'5", 125 pounds, and the small is big enough to fit over a thick sweater once fall comes. The sleeves are a little too long, but not long enough to pose a problem. Overall, it was just what I was looking for: a high-quality jacket that will last a long time and won't go out of style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic when layered I bought this for a winter backpacking trip in the Rockies (along with the Patagonia Nano Pullover) and it was quite perfect. Lots of snowshoeing meant lots of deep deep snow, and I never got remotely wet. I'm glad I read reviews on this jacket tho, because it is NOT insulated--so layer up! I wear it on a regular basis while biking around my city too. Perfect windbreak and the bill on the hoodie is nice too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I have wanted this jacket for awhile because I had heard so many great things.I have some tripps planned this summer and I know the jacket will hold up great! I really love it! It is a great rain jacket and great for layering. I love the ventilation zippers under the arms it helps cool things down a lot! I love the texture of the jacket inside and out, color is awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it Great raincoat/windbreaker. I've had a similar North Face raincoat that lasted me years and I lost it, so I thought I'd try a Patagonia brand raincoat this time. In my opinion this Patagonia raincoat is a higher quality jacket and I'm really satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket, fast shipping, great price! I bought this as a secondary rain jacket and now it is the only one i use! Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain jacket! This jacket provides great coverage. Both the body length and sleeve length are very adequate for my 5'10" frame.

Does this jacket have any type of insulation in it?

Asked by: alli
Hey there, This Patagonia Torrentshell Jacket is considered a rain jacket and isn't insulated. Good news though! There is an insulated version, the Patagonia Insulated Torrentshell Jacket.
