Women's Fit Guide Details & Info

Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.

Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.

• Conforms to the body's contours.

• Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

• Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.

• Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

• Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.

• Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product This jacket was the perfect light-weight for spring/autumn adventures, with room for a hoodie underneath when it is a little chillier.,,as for size.. in t-shirts i am a unisex small, (5'2" and 120-ish lbs) but got an extra small and it fits just perfectly with enough room for air circulation for a warm rain, and enough room for layers if it is cooler. ,,color wise.. ordered "prickly pear" at first.. i would compare it more to a lime green type of color.. it might just be the screen on my computer or my inability to predict change from a 1" photo on a computer to the real-life product.. who knows? anyways, i exchanged it for "storm" which is gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light, but totally waterproof! Awesome jacket! Love this jacket. It is definitely a shell, so if you are expecting it to be warm you will be very disappointed. I am 5'4", 155 lbs and I ordered a large so I would have room to fit layers. The jacket sits perfectly on my (size 12) hips and the sleeves are long enough to cover layers underneath. I did not have any trouble with the hood - it fit perfectly just like the rest of the jacket! It is definitely waterproof as well. I wore it salmon fishing and after 3 hours in the pouring rain and some fish guts, I was still dry and my clothes were not ruined. Everything wiped right off so it's as good as new. I'm planning on purchasing the matching pants next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Jacket Made Switzerland Bearable This is the perfect jacket for travel. I recently traveled to Switzerland and Italy and was greeted by downpours in Zurich from day 1. This jacket provided the perfect amount of protection from the rain to still head out and experience all that Zurich had to offer. This jacket kept me completely dry and the hood has a little bill (small) to keep the rain off of your face. When it wasn't raining, the jacket provided just the right amount of extra warmth from the cool breeze. Thankfully I didn't overheat as I climbed windy staircases in church after church due to the handy dandy underam vents. This is a great all around rain coat - it was worthy every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All-day, pouring, soul-sucking rain? No problemo! I received this jacket as a gift, and I'm thrilled with it! I work long days outside in all conditions, so it's awesome to have something that keeps me dry but is easy to roll up and shove into my messenger bag when I don't need it. It's very waterproof and keeps you nice and dry, but it's still lightweight and not at all plasticky or gross. I love the pit zips for days that are warm and rainy, and the hood has a little bill to help keep rain from running down your nose all day (the worst!). I'm 5'6" 115 lbs, and while the XS fit like a glove, the S has plenty of room for a fleece and a down jacket underneath for those unpleasant days when it's cold AND rainy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket that saved me in a storm from hell! A group of about 10 of us thought South Carolina would be a great place for a badass hiking adventure for Spring Break. Two days in it began to rain; it continued to rain for a full 24 hours when it began to hail and then snow. I was the only one in the group that stayed dry- which kept me from freezing when the temperatures dropped. So when two people got severe hypothermia and everyone else was miserable, I was 100% dry under my Patagonia Torrentshell jacket :). It was even breathable and comfortable to wear! The waterproof pockets kept my phone dry so that I was could call for rescue as soon as I got signal. You definitely won't regret buying this amazing jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit & durable material My jacket just came in today and I absolutely LOVE the fit. I am 5'3", 145lbs, and a medium was the correct size for me. The nylon material is both comfortable and durable. Despite my love for this jacket, I am going to exchange it for a different color. I have never seen these jackets in stores so I based my color preference off of Moosejaw's pictures. I bought the fennel color thinking it would be an earthy green color (that is how I perceived it to be from the pictures), however, it is a bright lime green color. I will be exchanging it for a more subdued color but overall I am extremely happy with my purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from keeps you dry but there's cheaper alternatives I'm an ocean-front lifeguard & during the summer I have to be prepared for rainfall. I bought this jacket last year in yellow and used it quite a few times during this past season. I stayed dry during hard rainfall and it kept me warm. The hoods adjustable, the jacket is light weight, & you can stuff the jacket into the left pocket for storage. The one negative I had with this jacket is buying the light colors means it hard to get stains out in the wash. I only used this jacket for a few months & its ruined on the pocket area because stain won't come out through the wash and using shout. I feel one can buy the NF version for less $ & it will still do the job of keeping you dry

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I must have a fat head, because the hood didn't even come to my forehead Let me begin by saying that this jacket is rad. Super waterproof (as far as that goes in any jacket), comfy, great pocket action, good range of motion, nice packability, and an excellent fit (truly): EXCEPT for the part where even with no beanie, no ponytail(s), no big hair, and no big attitude, the HOOD LITERALLY CAME ONLY TO MY HAIRLINE. I must be pretty fat headed, as the rest of the small jacket fit my 5'6", 130 lbs perfectly.,,,,I liked the rest of this jacket so well that I briefly considered putting up with having the rain run down my fat face. If you have a smaller head, or enjoy the sensation of rain on your face while wearing a rain coat, than you shall love it, too.
